Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.

We were hot and tired and decided to spend the extra money on a room at this hotel. It was terrible! My daughters and I have lived and traveled all over and we are used to all different levels of places. We didn't noticed the caked dust (inches thick) or the mouse poop all over until after we'd paid. The bathroom smelled of urine very strongly, we found cockroaches and nothing felt remotely clean. Our poor choice included a discoteca next door and the noise was incredibly bad. It was $110 for the night and it was the worst place we have ever stayed, including the last two weeks in Costa Rica.

This place is nice, the room is big and comfortable. The bar is active and the pool is refreshing. The only downside is the club next door so bring ear plugs as the music is loud. The owner and the people that work here are really friendly and accommodating.

We stayed for ten days and loved it. So nice to have the pool after a hot day at the beach! Our private patio was perfect for a cocktail and relaxing in the evenings. Room was clean, bed comfortable, ac worked well, shower was hot with good pressure. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Jo and her staff were very friendly and helpful. Hands down, the best place to stay in Dominical.

My girlfriend and I stayed here 5 days and loved it! We loved walking out of our room and hanging by the pool with good drinks and food from the bar and restaurant. Lots of local flare with fun conversations and connections. The pool area is well kept with beautiful orchids and flowers. All the staff was incredibly accommodating, we felt very taken care of. Great price and great location. Looking forward to staying here again!

Room was great but who spends any time in their room while in Domincal! The active little town has lots to offer but spent most of my time in pool and at bar getting to know ex-pats and locals alike! Joe, the owner is a joy to get to know and the majority of "locals" end up at the bar in the evening - great way to meet people and get a feel for the area! Thanks so much Joe for a FABULOUS 3 days!

We really enjoyed our stay at Rio Lindo, it is in a great location right next to the river. The grounds/pool area is beautiful and we'll kept. The rooms are simple but comfortable and everything you need for a good price. The staff are great and Jo the owner is very lovely. We would definitely stay here again.

So we were there for a night at it seeed alright at first but once we got inside the room, was not so clean, the bathroom had dead cockroaches and some worms, we just brushed it up because we were tired and went out for dinner. Later we unfortunately lost a key to one of our rooms (we had 2 rooms) and she was really hostile and unprofessional towards us because of it, which was pretty shocking, not very friendly host to be honest. She didnt had any back up key apparently, so we had to wait about an hour and a half so they could open the door, not too bad, but the worst part was that we accidenally left a bag with some expensive valuable stuff inside, the next day they didn't answer our calls at all the whole day, and 2 days later after they answered the phone, they just told us that they apparently "threw away" the bag just like that, they didnt called us before(they had our contact info) and the lady didnt care at all, didn't show apologetic one bit, which was really frustrating, then, she just hung up the phone, its incredible how poor customer service they offer considering the situation of the country. She just doesnt care and probably stole our stuff, because i highly doubt she just "threw it away". Bad experience overall.

Where to begin? If I could rate this stay 0 stars I would. To begin with, I had to request new sheets in my room as the ones in my bed were clearly dirty. The pillow and the room as a whole stunk of must and other questionable smells. Upon walking in, it was clear the room hadn't been thoroughly cleaned in months (maybe years?), complete with rodent feces on the window sill. After trying to enjoy a beer and receiving unwelcome conversation from the permanent drunks that hang around the hotel bar, I tried to get some sleep for the night. This is when the real fun began. The sleazy hotel bar played American pop hits from the 1980's, catering to the American ex-pat regulars at the bar hoping to relive their glory days. We shut the window after we had heard enough of melodies in the style of "Girls just wanna have fun" by Cindi Lauper. Around 10pm the bar next to the hotel started BLARING the worst club tunes to be found in any beach side town, rivaling even Daytona beach during spring break. The bumping and shouts of "Daleeeeeee!!!!" continued well into 2am. Needless to say, I "woke up" from my sleepless night at 6am, skipping my morning coffee, to get the hell out of this black hole of garbage energy the fastest I possibly could. If you have any self-respect do not stay here.
