What a place! The villa was very good equiped: beautiful kitchen, luxury bathroom, fantastic deck! The view was amazing: you can see the whale tale. The staff was friendly and made sure we had a great holiday. Diner was excellent! We stayed only for 3 nights, and are still talking about this place!
We came for our anniversary and were amazed by the views and friendly staff. Everything from check-in, to meals, to excursions was seamlessly handled with the brightest smiles and friendliest attitudes. The whole staff ensures your stay will be delightful. Villa 3 had the most epic view, the restaurant and pool on-site made our stay super relaxing, and kudos to Roger for his local guidance and high-level customer service!
The absolute best part of Villas Alturas is the staff...and that says a lot because the views and location are absolutely amazing. You won't be disappointed. Thank you again Villas Alturas and Uvita/Dominical for an amazing week! See you soon...Eric & Tracy
We loved staying at the Villas Alturas! The staff was beyond friendly and accommodating, and the views are to die for! We were originally staying near the beach in Uvita but visited alturas for the wildlife sanctuary. Upon looking at the villas, we knew we had to cancel our other accommodations and stay here! In addition to the symphony of nature sounds, we were able to spot parrots, toucans, caterpillars, and monkeys in the trees! The views during sunset are spectacular. We’d give this place 6 stars if we could!
Well, the room they first showed us to was opposite the car park and three workmen were digging up the garden outside our window. We said no and we were shown to an upgraded apartment for which they initially sought an additional payment but then agreed they would not. Matter’s improved from then on ! The room, four, is spacious and has a stunning view, the same one as from the pool and bar. We were not shown around the room so we had to go back to them to ascertain that the that the safe was not working and where the switch was for the fans. The thing that surprised us most here was the superb food. The menu is brief, simple and the food simply prepared, just cooked perfectly. My mahi mahi, often rather average was brilliant with a curried shrimp sauce. Plus and frankly to again our surprise was the breakfast !.We have had five weeks travel here including at top end places and none surpassed the excellent fruit and cooked option. They are working on some trails at the back of the hotel which would be great. However, two birders simply walked out around the back of the hotel and saw a lot so worth bearing in mind.…
We started here for 5 nights on a recent trip and loved it! Adrian who works here is the best, he goes above an beyond to help out the guests. The villas are very nice, have AC, amazing views and are perfect for a getaway, You can’t beat the view either. They have a nice pool and bar/restaurant as well. Will stay here again!
This is a lovely hotel with comfortable rooms and beautiful views. We stayed in a one bedroom. It had a living room, kitchen, spacious bathroom, awesome porch with a pair of rockers, hammock, and a table with 4 chairs. The couch was a futon so you could actually have three adults or to adults and two small children. Our view was spectacular. There were trees so we could view the local wildlife and a clearing to see a good deal of ocean. Bring your binoculars. We spotted humpback whales one morning and watched them right from the porch. The restaurant was amazing and delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They made us feel very ‘at home’ while we visited. The pool is very nice too and it overlooks the ocean. There’s plenty to do in the area. There is a wildlife sanctuary connected to the hotel which was very interesting and informative about the local wildlife. Whale watching tours, ATV tours, hiking, surfing, shopping and restaurants. Some of these can be booked right at the hotel if you wish. As some have mentioned, a 4x4 vehicle is a must to get up the steep road that leads to the hotel. I highly recommend this place. It was an awesome week.…
We stayed 5 nights at the enchanting Villa Alturas. There were fantastic views of the rain forest and the ocean from everywhere on the resort. The view from the pool is even better than their ad. We spotted toucans and capuchin monkeys and heard the howler monkeys from the resort. Our villa was well stocked and very comfortable. It was a wonderful base for our many day adventures. Dayanna, the lovely manager, helped us plan a lot of what we enjoyed and needed to do, like the COVID test to return home. Danly gave great service and perfect ideas for some outings. Special thanks to both of them. It was a fabulous vacation!
Beautiful spot overlooking the South Pacific coastline. It's worth a visit just for the view alone. But the food is quite ordinary and the Wi-Fi is very slow. We are not staying at the hotel but it looks like a wonderful place to stay I'm just reviewing the restaurant.
We visited Uvita’s area for 4 days. This is our first stay at this gorgeous place. The views are stunning!!! The place is spotless clean. The service was wonderful, especially Nicky and Ariel who were so helpful and pleasant. Atmosphere is just chill. The pool is not too big but overlooking the Marino Ballena national park and coast. Open all day! The common areas are very inviting and thoughtfully designed. Rooms are basic. Our room was very spacious and had beautiful views of the ocean and sunset! Each room has a different location. There is a full kitchen, and a dining table indoor and outside on a huge balcony with hammock and chairs. We had two bedrooms which was wonderful for a family. The restaurant was OK with limited menu. Breakfast is basic but good quality and healthy, but limited in choice, and yet different fresh fruit juice every day. Night drinks are very nice. Definitely will come again! Mucho gracias …
