I have stayed at La Palapa for 3 nights. The new owner Helene was very nice and welcoming. She offered much information about what to see on the property (that is huge) and around. She has also showed so much detail orientation- the bathrooms had a nice scent in them, room service was checking the rooms daily, breakfasts were delicious - beautifully served and different every day. The location of the hotel is very convenient if you want to explore Manuel Antonio. If you don’t drive- there is about 800mt walk to the property from the main road. There is a dinner available at the hotel, but there is also a local place right next to the hotel. The only thing that I initially didn’t like (nothing to do with the place) was that I served at night and felt a bit overwhelmed as the property is big and seemed empty. But in the morning when the sun went up it was absolutely stunning, with ppl showing up at breakfast. I do recommend- it is very nice, plus the owner gives much effort to make everyone comfortable at the place. Enjoy!

Had an amazing time staying with the very friendly staff and the owner Helene was very accommodating. She has a good knowledge of the surrounding areas and made it easier for me to decide on which areas to visit. Her resort was exactly what I wanted from a trip, very remote and peaceful. Beautiful sunset views on her property over the Pacific ocean that are a must see. She is located in a small village that you can get snack food and even dinner made if you want to see some of the local living. Waterfalls long or short hikes, beautiful beaches a short drive away and is constantly updating her resort and creating a great stress free stay. The rooms are very nice, good size and beautiful inside. Her employees keep up maintenance very well and keep a clean dining area. Drinks and food available through her restaurant and bar. Or check out the local stuff nearby. This was a real Costa Rican experience, with real Costa Rican wildlife :) She's a newer owner only a few weeks before I came did she take ownership and was instantly updating and upgrading the resort. Felt extremely safe there, and it is available for late arrivals which was very helpful as I arrived at 3 am and no problem getting into my room. I will go back when I can. Good for families solo or couples. I recommend this resort. Ty M

To all, This is the worst experience that i have encounter ! Even thought that It show positive review... This place is to avoid.... Site missing maintenance, dirty pool, dirty room. We got welcome by a woman that advise us that she bought the hôtel à few days prior to our arrival. She was looking to be under the influence of alcool or drugs!!! On photo, the place look amazing but in reality, it is totally different. Nothing to do with the description. Bad smell, dirty..... This Is our only négative place encounter in Costa Rica which is such a great country. Will go back to Costa Rica but never at La Palapa Eco Lodge Benoît

We have stayed at La Palapa a number of times, and have never been disappointed. The bungalows are clean, comfortable and tastefully appointed, the gardens are incredible, as are the pool and bar/breakfast area. We are always made to feel welcome and at home. La Palapa is located between two larger towns, and is easily accessible to many local attractions and beaches. The owner is very helpful in making suggestions according to the type of activity you are looking for, and will set up tours for you. The property has its own waterfall at the end of a hike through the beautiful grounds of the resort. It truly is paradise.

A really nice resort we found there. My children loved this place and the pool. You will find Tucans and other animals there as well. Really friendly stuff. Especially the owner, Manuel, a courteous gentleman from Portugal, who even helped us finding our way to other places we need to visit and gave us great tips, which made our vacation unforgettable. I can really recommend this place!

Hidden away off the highway down a dirt road. Lots of vegetation around cabins. Very private all we heard were sounds of nature. Breakfast every morning served early, Same breakfast everyday. Ate there only twice. Room was clean. All windows had screens all we saw was the vegetation from any of the windows. No television, but enjoyed everyday.
