It's a word used a lot, but rustic describes this comfortable gem the best. Often that description comes coupled with stories of things broken, old or unkempt. But in this case, it is accompanied by all the comforts, luxuries and conveniences you could think of. The owners have collected so many fascinating antiques and the rooms are filled with lamps,...

Absolutely breathtaking rooms and even better service! By the time we left we knew everybody and their dogs names. They provide every amenity to provide you and you're dogs with the comforts of home. I couldn't think of a single negative thing to say about this place. Wanting to go back next month because it was that amazing! Sara Romero

My daughter and I recently stayed three nights at the El Portal, from the minute we stepped out of our car we were welcomed by staff. Ann was coming on to her shift and was accompanied by her greyhound, Maggie, she was so accommodating and friendly, she guided us to our room and gave us a great recommendation for a...

Stayed here for three nights in January and we had a wonderful time. Even the dog got a goodie basket in the room. It was cold and the fire was already lit awaiting our arrival. They have a afternoon snack layout available in the restaurant area too which is free for guests and a really lovely touch. Just what we...

We arrived at the El Portal a few hours earlier than check in time. Steve and Connie welcomed us with open arms, and said we'll have the room ready in 30 minutes. We love the atmosphere, the sisters who run the kitchen and housekeeping (Esperanza, More and Sylvia), and the beautiful suite with outdoor patio for the pups. And this...

This place is perfect. What we love about it is its not your big corporate hotels. This place is home away from home and to us that was awesome. The beautiful dinning room, fireplace, the the court yard, the layout and architecture of the Inn is beautiful. Each room is different and this place is amazing. The staff are really...

We showed up for check-in an hour or two early. Signs point to registration, which takes you into a dining room/lounge area. Wasn't a soul around to help me. So i left. Came back at 3:00 on the nose, walked into the room and again not a person around to help, not even a sign saying "Be Back Soon"....i stood...

Central location in Sedona to shops, restaurants and touring sighs. Steve was very informative on travel times and things to do. The room was spacious and breakfast was good. Very pet friendly hotel. All of the employees were friendly and helpful.

I cannot find anything in my memory or my notes that would be a negative criticism of this hotel. The rooms were nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. The staff was cordial and efficient, not wasting our time, but friendly and helpful. The price was right, considering it is Sedona. If I were going back to Sedona, there would be no...

I love this hotel! The rooms are each unique with huge, comfortable beds and luxury, spa-like bathrooms. The hosts are incredibly nice and accommodating. This hotel feels more like a home.
