As a Bed and Brakfast owner in Hawaii, I am picky about my bedding, food, service etc. Besides being located ideally by the stream with beautiful views, this place provided ORGANIC food for our Orenda Gold School. I was so impressed that they went to the trouble of paying extra to provide excellent meals. The service was impeccable with unexpected...

The hotel is well located - they have a courtesy car to deliver you into the town and collect you to bring you back, probably because it is a bit of a hike up from the hotel which is down by the creek. We had a creek side room which was good quality. The outstanding thing was the very high...

We came from Phoenix Palomar to Amara. As Phoenix Palomar was spectacular, I may have had high expectations for Amara. While the staff in Amara were absolutely great and we received top-notch service from each and everyone we encountered, my peeve is with the room. I booked a courtyard facing room. I did get a courtyard facing room, unfortunately my...

Three stars for my beloved Kimpton brand. I know. It hurts me too. With the exception of a Best Western the last 9 or 10 times ive traveled have been at Kimptons,so Im pretty much comparing them to each other at this point. The staff is wonderful. Daniel who helped with some specifics on a reservation and a lovely girl...

Having stayed at other Kimpton properties this one fell short in a couple areas. I think they may have recently taking this property over and my still be making changes. First we will stay their again for sure they are very pet friendly and the location of the hotel is great as well as the view from the creek side...

The resort was very special and Sedona is beyond belief. The red rocks are truly red and the humidity is super low (especially when you come from DC). Be sure to use the steam room, especially if you enjoy hiking big time as do I. It's a great way to stretch out your muscles and compensate for the very low...

Having stayed at many Kimpton properties, I was a bit surprised by Amara. While the location is great and staff is friendly, the hotel does not have the "Kimpton feel" to it. Our room was an extremely large one bedroom suite, but seemed bare and bland with white walls and sparse plain furniture. Our room was in the furthest building...

I stayed here with my boyfriend for a long weekend in November to celebrate my birthday. Our stay at this hotel was mostly positive with a few negatives. First, the rooms were large, clean, and nicely decorated. Our room had a view of a wall, but it was too chilly to sit on the patio, so we didn't really care....

We arrived in Sedona from Baltimore via Phoenix after an incredibly stressful morning (which is a whole other story). The drive is amazing, and although Sedona in many ways is a typically touristy spa town, the scenery immediately made us feel better... then the Amara put the icing on the cake. We were greeted by informative and helpful staff who...

Stayed 2 nights in Jan. Location is great as right downtown. The reason for only 3 stars is this does not live up to Kimpton quality. Place needs a facelift which they told us is scheduled for June '14. Plants were in need of serious tlc. Worth booking a room with view as our room felt like a dungeon. Staff...
