Beautiful rooms - tasteful, very clean, comfortable bed, nice balcony. Great spa/pool. fantastic restaurant: delicious food, beautiful patio and indoor seating. wonderful staff: competent, professional, friendly, responsive. Just perfect.
Every morning and evening we enjoyed the spectacular view while enjoying the cuisine. We also appreciated the lift up and back from the main strip. Beds were comfortable and there were adequate longe chairs for all
Service lacking - Guest with midnight in room smoke alarm going off and no maintenance staff on-site, needing to change room at midnight. Driving up during rain, valet had umbrella but did not coming to car to offer it to my wife.
5 stars across the board. Room, staff and food all fabulous. Friendly frost desk and the bartenders suggested so many great things to do. from the tome we dropped the car at valet until the time we left, a five star experience.
We had a great trip. The resort was very clean and all of the staff was very friendly and helpful I highly recommend this facility. Our room was right next to the river and we had great views. The pool area was also very clean and relaxing.
After days of hiking at National Parks, Amara was the perfect way to spend our last couple of days. Amazing food and drink, beautiful pool and surroundings. Already want to plan our return trip next year!
Our room was on the creek so it did cost a lot more than the average room on the back or courtyard/pool view, but it was worth it. The trees rustling, the rain hitting the creek, the water bubbling along, it was a destination in itself. I wish there was a screen so you could hear it, but you'd get large bugs flying in so you had to keep the slider to the balcony closed. Sadly no bathtub - almost booked a boutique hotel with tub, but decided the location was worth the trade-off. The bathroom is large with shower - handheld adjustable shower-head and rainfall shower- head, but not both at the same time. The shower pan was a cheap, pre-made acrylic drop-in rather than marble or tile. Sound insulation between floors and rooms isn't great. You can hear people above you walking in their room and we heard loud groups on one side of us, so play your own music if you don't want to hear cackling groups of women in the next room or in the hallway. The bar is great, pool was wonderful until it got busy with bachelorette groups, wedding groups - inviting friends from other hotels letting them into the pool area & getting really loud. Hiked up the driveway in the mornings, took the golf cart ride in the evenings - no biggie. The hotel should advertise the taxi service they recommend when you check in, because we didn't find that out until our last night there, after frustrating attempts at getting uber/lyft. Taxi was double what uber cost, but at least they were prompt and didn't cancel on the way. Food: Short Rib Tacos, club sandwich, drinks, morning Illy coffee, waffle with vanilla cream, all great. Housekeeping was purely tip driven. We didn't have change the first night so they didn't empty trash or leave extra towels, and they threw away our gifted macrons (we'd only eaten one of 6). Next night we had change (from valet) and had the normal housekeeping experience. Same the next night. The 4th night we didn't have tip left by the time they came (in morning - prior, they'd come in the afternoon so we had more time) so they left the bathroom floor untouched and no coffee pods/cream We went to the front desk and picked some up for the morning. For over $600, I'd expect each night to be treated as if we were just checking in and receive high-quality services/housekeeping each day. Overall, even though it wasn't "perfect", it was worth it for the beauty, the creek, the location and overall serenity.…
The Amara Resort & Spa is a beautiful property in a picturesque area. Check-in was a breeze. Both the front desk and the parking valet were extremely friendly and helpful. We had an amazing dinner in the on-property restaurant and my wife enjoyed a relaxing massage that she said was “great.” Our stay was perfect, up until 2:31 PM on Sunday, when we received the following text message: “Hi there! We hope you're enjoying your time in Sedona. This is a courtesy message to inform you of a wedding and reception that will be taking place in our Courtyard beginning at 4pm. You may hear some overflow noise from this event, but it is set to finish sharply at 10pm. And don't worry, our pool and jacuzzi are still open for your use! Please visit the front desk if you have any questions or concerns regarding this matter. We greatly appreciate your cooperation and understanding. Enjoy your evening!” A wedding in the courtyard, right below a few dozen guest rooms? Hey, no big deal, right? Weddings are great and we didn’t feel our stay was disrupted by this one … until 10 PM came and went and the “overflow noise” didn’t finish “sharply” as promised. In fact, the raucous partying went on past 11 PM and when my wife called the front desk to complain about the noise, the staff person was unhelpful and dismissive. The partying outside the guest rooms finally quieted down around 11:20 PM. For a resort that ostensibly prides itself on creating a relaxing experience for its guests, this definitely was not it. Maybe loud and raucous partying well past 11 PM on a Sunday night is a one-off at Amara, but had we known this event was happening we’d not have booked our 3 night stay here. My advice to anyone planning a stay here is to check and see if any outdoor wedding receptions are planned in the courtyard. If so, either don’t book the Amara, get a room that isn’t facing the courtyard, wear earplugs or get an invitation to the party. Just don’t expect a relaxing experience or an evening of peace and quiet! Very disappointing.…
Beautiful place, food and room service was good. Service was helpful and the location is close to hiking and Sedona things to do. Beautiful views and close to oak creek. Restaurant was nice atmosphere with option to site outside. Expensive but would recommend.
Outstanding location in middle of town. Easy walk up to main street but shuttle service was always available as well. Pool area was quiet and relaxing, with a good view of the red rocks. Bar area and food inside was very good. Service at all places was excellent.
