I was lucky to spend a week recently with my friends at the Westward Motel. We are all artists and we went so that we could paint the surrounding desert scenes. However, we rarely left the property as the motel and grounds were an artists dream come true!! Everywhere you turn there is a vintage Arizona scene to paint right...

The Westward Motel is a delight. Comfortable and quiet. Randy,Janet Lee, and Cindy will will accommodate your every need. There is a communal kitchen for everyone, lots of outside eating and lounging areas. Interesting items from the area abound. The bed is great!! Memory foam.. There are only 4 rooms so book ahead!

Salome was one of many desert towns on US 60 bypassed by Interstate 10 and left in the dust in the 1980s. But treasures like the Westward Motel remain at this remote roadside inn. An former rock band roadie rebuilt this 1940s motel that sits a block off US 60. He's turned it into an authentic desert gem. It is...

My wife and I visited The Westward Motel last week which is owned by my cousin Rande Wolters. I visited him 10 years ago when he bought the motel and the improvements he has made are mind blowing. He has created a one of kind experience in the middle of the desert. His mix of old & new, quirky &...

The Westward Motel is the perfect place to get away from it all, and get inspired. Ideal for a writer's retreat or any artist in need of a change of pace, a quiet place, that's full of beauty. Each room is unique and the attention to detail is astonishing. You can tell that very stick of furniture, every painting on...

As a foreign correspondent for half a century I've stayed in lots of places, and I can't think of one to match the Westward Motel for quirky character,a genuine welcome, fine little touches. I was stunned that the preceding reviewer gave it only three stars after a fairly good description of some of its high points. I'd give it 10....

Stayed for 2 nights at Xmas. A quirky little property, with plenty of interesting knick knacks spread throughout. You have to pay cash. Reservations by phone only. An attraction for us was the great reviews here on Trip Advisor, as well as facilities which included a communal kitchen area and outdoor gas grill. We were there on xmas day itself,...

I can't say enough positive things about this little jewel in the middle of nowhere. It was one of the highlights of our trip from NE to CA. It's on the southern branch of Route 66, old Route 60, and has been restored to that historical charm with all of the modern amenities. With only 4 rooms you'll be gifted...

Stopped in Salome for one night while going from Page to LA. Very clean, friendly and cosy place...and easy to find. Randy will welcome you. Just beware of the one freight train that crosses the town at midnight! ...and can't restrain from blowing its horn. It can be surprising.
