Nice retreat in downtown Phoenix with well kept rooms. Very small common areas on the main / ground floor... what is there is taken up by the mostly closed restaurant and bar (Covid). Reservation had a couple hiccups. They are renovating large parts of the ground floor, with no mention in the reservation system; a cardinal sin in my book. Also apparently their reservation system doesn’t speak with the Marriott system, so although you do a mobile check-in, it doesn’t process; or the employee lied, which is possible. I’ve found some just don’t know how to process a mobile checkin. Also considerable internet problems during the stay, but could mostly work through them. Rooms are typical Westin. Very high quality bed and linens. Colors are dark complimented with creams and gold like colors. I highly recommend breaking out some Suite Night certificates or just reserving a corner room/suite, which is oversized with a very nice bathroom. Problems were offset by accommodating my 4pm late checkout request. There is a nice outdoor pool area accessed awkwardly by the front desk and restaurant / bar. Given the location it is understandable why.

It is a very nice hotel if the Club Lounge and pool is open. Although there were not much things going on, you still can find a few restaurants around the hotel. The room is clean and huge (upgraded to the executive floor), a lot of modern amenities, but it is not marble counter top. There are not enough water in the room. When I asked for more water, they put charges on the 4 bottles of regular water. Ask I complained about it for charging platinum member for water, they removed the charge. But they shouldn't have charged at the first place. Valet parking was friendly and helpful.

This is a beautiful, relatively new hotel. Because of COVID, the only food service available at the hotel seems to be a limited, room service menu. However, there is a Starbucks in the Renaissance hotel close by and a number of restaurants within walking distance close to the stadium. We arrived after dark and the signage is seriously limited at the hotel. You can see the Westin sign but it is almost impossible to find the entrance because it is not on the street. You have to know to walk into what looks like a dark entryway to find the entrance to the hotel. It probably is easier to find in the day but at night good luck. The night staff on the day we arrived did not seem very familiar with the area. We were directed the wrong way to the restaurants and ended up wandering for 30 minutes unable to find anything except a Hooters which actually was closed because most places close by 9 pm during the week. Eventually we went the right way and found a place to eat. Because of COVID the hotel is not fully staffed and the staff that is there is uneven, some are great, some act like trainees. Try to self park on the street because the parking garage is a few blocks away. Everyone had on a mask, no COVID worries here.

Horrible. Worst experience ever. Long time loyal Marriott customer. This was my second stay at this property. The staff (Leneece, Esther, & Conan), lack any customer service skills and should not be in hospitality. Complete disregard for the customer, no empathy, and could care less that I left mid-stay to go to a different property due to the way they handled something so simple. They didn’t even try to resolve the issue or try to keep me as a guest. They said one thing, made me feel bad, then did another. After thinking about what happened, I’m really upset, disappointed, and hurt how they treated me as a loyal customer. Oh and don’t complain, or show you’re frustration with their lack of resolve, they’ll call security on you. They could care less about your Marriott loyalty status. I will never stay at this hotel again. If you are a loyal Marriott customer, avoid this hotel. They treat you horribly. You’ll get better service at Motel 6.
