We stopped here to kill a few hours while waiting for a phone call. The Post, the hotel restaurant is totally closed due to the pandemic, but The Perch, the bar and lounge was open. The bartender was absolutely fabulous in terms of personality and service. The bar has all the standard beverages and i had a modest glass of wine. The molten lava cake is one of my favorite desserts but this one disappointed. In a true lava cake, the center of the cake is molten and gooey. In this case, I was served a small chocolate cake with chocolate sauce poured on it, The cake was good; the ice cream scoop was generous and tasty but it was not a molten lava cake. My friend got the trio gelato dish. The scoops were enormous; the flavors required an adventurous palate.
The hotel is rated 4 STAR and is at best 1.5 STAR. The rooms are old, dirty and small. The rooms are not properly lit and this guest tripped several times trying to access the bed side table lights. The alarm clock is set to the incorrect time. The USC-C outlets do not work for charging cell phones and / laptops. The noise from surrounding and distant guests could be heard all night and early morning No handicap access is available for Hotel entry. Handicap room was requested and yet not only not granted but a small non handicap room given and later told no handicap rooms exist. Fitness room is inaccessible without booking a fitness room reservation and only during limited hours. All the above complaints were addressed with the property manager and told this guest would receive a return call addressing the concerns yet no call nor email nor text ever received.…
I was asked to fill out a form and email this, the form included my credit card inforation and a picture of my drivers licesne. I felt somewhat insecure about sending this and asked how I could be assued that this information was secure. The women was incredibly curt with me and mockingly told me "well we wont let guest information be seen by anyone, obvioulsy" After having to talk on the phone for 30 minutes to make a simple reservation, I decided this was too much and i will not be attempting to stay here again.
We stayed here one night before our flight the next day. We were very pleased. The hotel is super clean and the bed is very comfy. The people were very friendly. Their restaurant is closed but you can get a nice breakfast in the bar during the morning hours. We should have split a meal because their portions were large and we wasted a lot of food. I highly recommend this place. They are doing a good job during COVID.
My air conditioning broke in my house and needed a cool place for myself and family. I was greeted by Susan at the front desk. She was attentive. Went to the lounge to get some food. My wife has a lot of allergies to food. Heather was very helpful getting her something she could eat. Everyone was great. My only complaint with my stay would be the rooms smell musty. I would definitely recommend to family and friends.
