Mountain Shadows set the benchmark for desert luxury and distinctive design when it first opened in 1959. Now, it’s been completely re-envisioned from the ground up. The brand-new resort is set in the shadow of Camelback Mountain in the serene town of Paradise Valley, an affluent community of Scottsdale, Arizona. Contemporary design is infused with a dash of the 1950's modernism that the original resort was famous for. Mountain Shadows features 183 guest rooms. Savor American fare that’s delightful in its simplicity at Hearth ’61 restaurant, bar and living room. Head to The Citizens Club for fitness classes, organic drinks from the juice bar and relaxing afternoons poolside. The Short Course offers 18 holes of par-3 golf, with options for the novice player and the experienced golfer. After a round, visit Rusty’s for grille fare and brews inside and on the patio. Desert and mountain views throughout the resort set the tone for a stay that’s relaxing yet invigorating.

Surprise trip. Nice views if you face the mountain. Even though we faced the road, it was not an issue. A little noise but nothing that bothered us. Very friendly and helpful. Valet gentlemen were terrific!! Housekeeping accommodated some simple requests. Would return.

I'll start by saying that I didn't pay the bill here (I know it's not motel 6 prices) as I was hosted by my company that I work for, but I had a wonderful stay. The property felt smaller than it was (in a good way). The food was excellent, both the business catered lunches, the

We had business meeting here for about 50 pp. The property size was such that we didn’t feel “gobbled up” like at larger hotels. Several weddings were there during our stay and the venue is lovely. Staff was excellent and customer service top notch. We used the shuttle to take

There is shuttle service but I don't know if they go to Old Town. The resort is so beautiful that I didn't want to leave!

We have a Tesla Type X that will take you to both hiking trails on Camelback Mountain, Sanctuary and El Chorro. Occasionally we can go to the Scottsdale Fashion Square mall but it is based on availability, please ask the bell captain with the date and time you are interested in...

Is this a good resort to bring our two teenagers?
Sorry for the late response. Hard to say, I too have 2 teenagers. They would have things to do but not a huge resort and nothing within walking distance but hiking. Definitely would stay there for short trip but not for more than 2-3 nights .

"I would probably not take a room that was just over the hotel lobby bar. it has a patio that is open late an we were pretty noisy."
"Be sure to plan time to spend on the property - and be clear about your needs and preferences, as they make every attempt to fulfil them."
"ALL Rooms are great"
"Prefer first floor rooms that open up to the pool area"
"Ask for a room with a view to camelback mountain. And, see if a room with a balcony is available. Wooza."
