We stayed at one of the two bedroom condo's located over the "general store" and looked to be recently updated. I will say that the exterior was in very bad need of painting. Come to find out not all the buildings are owned by WorldMark,...More
We picked this location because of its proximity to a stable riding facility. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Amanda working the desk. A wonderful girl very nice and helpful. She gave us a wonderful overview of the resort.

This is a cool property. It feels like old Tombstone, with saloons and restaurants. Each property has a nice old feel outside while inside is roomy. Fun places for children to play.
The outside also has pool, spa, like all the Worldmarks we have stayed...More
Every single staff person is outstanding. The two bedroom unit with a view of the pool and grounds was very spacious and tastefully appointed.
We really loved the staff, very generous with ideas about eateries, shopping and travel times/routes to various places. Great service with...More
We stayed at the WorldMark Bison Ranch at the end of March, and most of the things to do around were closed for the winter. Be advised if you plan your travel off season like we do, the pool opens in April, and most of...More

HI! Honestly, that didn't come up for us! We were there in March and it was snowing, so I was glad for the gas fireplace. However, I will tell you that Overgaard is in the High Desert, so it doesn't get as warm as places like Phoenix. The front desk staff is amazing though, they'd be happy to answer your question if you call them.

Hi! It is beautiful country, you'll love it. Because it is in the high desert, daytime temps in September rise to about 77 degrees, while nighttime lows can go as low as 45. So, depending on what you're doing, you probably want to bring at least one set of long pants/long sleeves/sweater and dress in layers if you're going to be gone all day.
As far as fun things to do - we went to the Painted Desert National Park, which was amazing. I really can't recommend it enough. It's about an hour's drive from Overgaard. The Grand Canyon is about 3 hours away and might make a good day trip.
There is trail riding right on site at Bison Ranch, and it's pretty reasonable. If you're into astronomy, check out the Apache-Sitgraves Observatory - the largest public viewing telescope in Arizona. Check the schedule on their website, though, they are only open certain days. There is golf in Overgaard, but I couldn't tell you much about it as I don't golf. Another place of interest is the Windy Hills Lavender farm, if you're into rustic, herbal adventures. It's a small shop attached to a lavender farm and they may have events going on during your stay. They were on winter hours when we were there, and it just didn't mesh with our schedule, sadly.
We went to the Wild Women Saloon on site, which was a great restaurant. The front desk staff has a list of local restaurants that may give discounts to Bison Ranch guests. Alibertos was highly recommended, but we didn't go there.
The staff at Bison Ranch is really friendly, and they'd be happy to help you find something of interest. Have a great trip!
