Good location for Painted Desert/Petrified Forest. Two bed/two bath condo worked perfect. Had living area to socialize. Had kitchen which cut down on food costs. Gas fireplace in Living room was nice as it snowed outside!
Awesome 1st class accommodations! Loved the fishing pond that was stocked with fish. My husband taught our two grandson's how to cast their lines. There is a big grassy area where we taught our six grandchildren how to fly kites. Our daughter and our three...More
The condos were immaculate and very nicely furnished with everything you could need. The pool and hot tub were lovely and frequently used by many families staying on the property. It would be perfect for a family reunion or gathering. We drove along the Mogollon...More

HI! Honestly, that didn't come up for us! We were there in March and it was snowing, so I was glad for the gas fireplace. However, I will tell you that Overgaard is in the High Desert, so it doesn't get as warm as places like Phoenix. The front desk staff is amazing though, they'd be happy to answer your question if you call them.

Hi! It is beautiful country, you'll love it. Because it is in the high desert, daytime temps in September rise to about 77 degrees, while nighttime lows can go as low as 45. So, depending on what you're doing, you probably want to bring at least one set of long pants/long sleeves/sweater and dress in layers if you're going to be gone all day.
As far as fun things to do - we went to the Painted Desert National Park, which was amazing. I really can't recommend it enough. It's about an hour's drive from Overgaard. The Grand Canyon is about 3 hours away and might make a good day trip.
There is trail riding right on site at Bison Ranch, and it's pretty reasonable. If you're into astronomy, check out the Apache-Sitgraves Observatory - the largest public viewing telescope in Arizona. Check the schedule on their website, though, they are only open certain days. There is golf in Overgaard, but I couldn't tell you much about it as I don't golf. Another place of interest is the Windy Hills Lavender farm, if you're into rustic, herbal adventures. It's a small shop attached to a lavender farm and they may have events going on during your stay. They were on winter hours when we were there, and it just didn't mesh with our schedule, sadly.
We went to the Wild Women Saloon on site, which was a great restaurant. The front desk staff has a list of local restaurants that may give discounts to Bison Ranch guests. Alibertos was highly recommended, but we didn't go there.
The staff at Bison Ranch is really friendly, and they'd be happy to help you find something of interest. Have a great trip!
