On arrival to the grotty reception area, no record of our booking could be found, despite the fact I had an e-mail confirmation with me. We were told that the manager, Nigel, who I had booked with, was away. After a phone call to the temporary manager, who was at work in town, we were shown to a cottage set...

Don't stay here unles the place has burned to the ground and rebuilt under new management. I still want to vomit when I think of the stench in the bathroom. Something must have been rotting under the floor. When we first checked in I thought it was gas from the cook top, and the windows had all been shut up....

I would recommend vaiala beach cottages for those who want self contained, close to town but not too close you don't catch any of the "business of Apia" which was a welcoming thought everytime we were coming or going from our accommodation. Stayed here with my partner in our own cottage and whilst i wasn't able to fully utilise the...

We stayed here for the Teuila Festival and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Vaiala Beach Cottages. We picked this place because we were able to cook our own food and eat out when we feel like it. It is close to restaurants (12 minute walk) and to town. We visited Robert Louis Stevenson and took a walk to this tomb,...

Our family stayed here for three nights, to explore Apia and surroundings. The cottages were perfect for us. It is a short and quite pleasant walk into the main Beach Road in Apia, and really close to the Palolo Deep marine reserve. The cottages have self-catering arrangements and we enjoyed cooking a simple meal using ingredients we purchased at the...

NO accommodation in Apia is located on a swimmable beach but this is as close to it as you'll find. It's a 3 minute walk along a seaside park to Palolo Deep, the best, easily accessible snorkeling in all of Samoa (after the tsunami hit the better places on the southeast coast). I stayed here because it was an easy...

My husband, my daughter (she was 2 years old) and I stayed at Nigel’s place last year in March for 15 days. We loved it very much. And almost everywhere we went, exploring Samoa with their special jeeps, people new Nigel. Even though seeing most of the touristy resorts on Samoa, I am pretty sure we would still book the...

We've stayed here 3 times. Twice on our first trip (at the start and end of our trip) and again on our second trip to Samoa. We would definitely recommend it and would be happy to come back again. Although not 5 star, the place is good value for money. It's clean and spacious with a full kitchen and great...

We stayed 2 nights in one of these self-catering cottages. The cottage was a clean, pleasant place as was the fenced compound. The owner, Clive, was great and let us check in early and out late which really helped us as we had a midnight flight. We could easily walk to the main business area of Apia and could also...

We used Vaiala Beach Cottages as a base to explore Apia and and Upolu for a couple of days. It is a great place if you want to prepare your own meals rather than eat out at restaurants all the time. The location is quiet (although you get the odd rooster crowing!) and it is a good safe spot for...
