This wonderful resort is very private, off the beaten path, situated at a hot springs oasis. He has been newly renovated and has beautiful rooms, very modern, all in a beautiful treed and flowery setting with the water running through the property. There are lots of things to do here. The service is excellent, very attentive. Everything is included in your stay here including all three meals.

Property's Favourite Review
Lovingly and carefully rebuilt decades after it closed, this 1896 hot springs location will amaze you. Several of the original buildings have been totally rebuilt/restored and all new beautiful separate chalets built for the guests. All-inclusive (except for alcohol) with wonderful gourmet cuisine. Much of the produce is grown on site, and a "farm" tour twice a day is not to be missed. The chalets (and everything else here, for that matter), are very nice. Many well thought out extras. My wife loved the robes they provide. There are even small telescopes on each "sky view" chalet's balcony/veranda for nighttime star gazing, although I preferred the 10x50 binoculars I brought along. The springs are delightful. Check out their web site. Oh, they mention that the last 7 miles of road are rough (unpaved), but people drive in every day (our GMC Acadia had no trouble on it - plan on about 20mph on the unpaved section). I wouldn't drive a really low car on it, but people do. The road up to that point is excellent, and the unpaved section is very wide. The resort has been reopened after a 5 year multi-million dollar rebuild, with great attention to detail and a total focus on quality as opposed to a budget. We plan on going back in the Fall with friends. At some point the word will get out (it's been open less than a year) and getting a reservation will become more challenging. It is not unusual to see guests arrive by helicopter after flying in to one of the Phoenix area airports.

Castle Hot Springs is an oasis in the desert, quite literally. The natural hot springs provide water to the discerning guests who are thronging to this resort. The only caveat is that you have to traverse a dirt road for 7 miles to reach your destination (we made it in a Audi A6). Once there, visitors marvel at the amenities this hidden gem provides. The ambiance is unique and unparalleled. The resort boasts a prolific garden, relaxing massages in outdoor cabanas, 3 pools of natural hot springs plus a large swimming pool, all-inclusive meals with farm to table fare, and activities including yoga, hiking, and even crafting projects. Gourmet dinners feature five courses, including multiple starters, a main course and dessert. I suggest adding the wine pairing option to complement your culinary menu. Recently rebuilt after a fires destroyed the resort, it has been meticulously restored by the most recent owners. CHS still retains the rustic character that historically attracted movie stars, business people and politicians, like JFK. Since reopening in 2019, it has recently gone viral in popularity, thanks to word of mouth buzz, so reserve now before it's too late. The 30 cabins on site are roomy and they provide privacy during your stay. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming. Guided hikes include an aerial bridge to see petroglyphs, or if heights intimidate you, there is a walking hike as well which is not too strenuous. Make sure you check out the Emmy statuette in the lobby, which was awarded for their documentary. Our cabin in the woods was a welcome respite from the real world. I loved the experience and also the quote on a sign there: "The best cure for the body is a QUIET mind."

Amazing overnight at the famous Castle Hot Springs exceeded all expectations. This was a gift for us to celebrate our recent marriage and my husband's 65th birthday and retirement. Arizona has many beautiful resorts, and many fine dining farm to table gourmet restaurants, but this place is special beyond those offerings. With only 30 or so private casitas - there are rarely more than 64 guest on property allowing for uncrowded space and quiet. The history is what makes this beautiful oasis in the desert mountains one of a kind. Established in 1896 as a luxury destination - albeit by a long, dusty stagecoach the locale offered Arizona's first in ground swimming pool and first 9 hole golf course. The famous hot springs - 3 of various temperatures at the top of a mountain were a huge draw then as they are today. No odor but full of rich minerals that not only are restorative to guests, but allow amazing farm to grow the tastiest produce you have ever had! It saddens me this sat unused for so many years - and the desire of the owners to restore this to a 5 star destination has definitely been achieved. The casitas are so comfortable - love the deck, the outdoor tub/shower (with mineral water from the springs), comfortable bed, and the 16+ ages help keep things peaceful. So many things to do - we didn't get to do everything offered, but glad that we didn't because that gives us an excuse to return one day. Warm, hospitable staff. Definitely a gem in the desert!!

I just returned home after spending 4 days at Castle Springs and my words to describe our “stay” are just not adequate enough. From the minute we pulled into the front of the resort ... we were greeted by staff that unloaded our luggage, parked our car and golf carted us to our Sky View Cabin. It is truly a magical place and you will instantly feel relaxed and calm. The farm to table fresh ingredients that the Chef prepared were absolute works of art and the tastes were even more amazing. Fresh herbs, veggies and flowers decorated each and every dish. The service of all the staff was beyond our expectations and each and every staff member made us feel so at home.
