The Sangay Hotel and Spa was a perfect two-night getaway from the hustle and bustle of Quito. We felt like we were a world away, and couldn't have asked for a better location. We were 50 feet across from the waterfall and thermal baths, which we took advantage of both days. My three kids loved the pool, and my wife... More

The main building dates from 1930 and little effort was made to renovate it - instead they built 'cabins' and 'suites' that are - of course - much more expensive. Their old rooms are equiped with torn floor carpet and bed gear, unfinished concrete walls, a door that urgently needs a lick of paint, and bathrooms only separated from your... More

This hotel has an excellent location, a few steps from the waterfall and the baths (but close your window at night - people start swimming at 4 am and can make some noise). The breakfast buffet is various and very good. Rooms were all clean and very well equipped, incl. wifi. Staff is very kind and helpful. The spa &... More

Sangay is nice and clean, but relative to other prices in Ecuador, not worth the high cost. The balcony with views overlooking the waterfall have an immediate view of the parking lot. The breakfast buffet was nice though.

Great place, great facilities, excellent breakfast, the location is the best in town, nothing else better right in front of the Virgin hot springs. Good parking facilities, spa, gym, pool and massage. Staff is friendly and great.

Hotel Sangay is an adequate accommodation at bit away from the busy centre of Baños de Agua Santa at 1,820m. Across the street is the public thermal bath and swimming pool. Rooms are clean, showers are OK and staffs are friendly. Walking distance from the centre of Baños which is full of Ecuador tourists. The hotel has 3 sections: colonial... More

When I first arrived at this hotel I was happy. I had a decent room with a wonderful balcony view of the waterfalls. Little did I know that the balcony view come back to haunt me.. but we'll get to that later. The rooms are okay, fairly clean but somewhat aging; far from being the best hotel I've been in... More

Pros: once in a lifetime chance to wake up to sounds of a waterfall outside your window and it's not small either... close to thermal baths, very cheap and excellent spa, we did 60m massage for $30! and rosepetal bath for $15, easily 1/3 of cost in U.S., breakfast was incl and was delicious with omelettes, fruit juices, yogurt, toast,... We had a lovely quiet room facing the waterfall and expected the hotel facilities to match this standard. The restaurant service was very slow - we nearly left on our first evening. Breakfast was faster but the room looked worn and tired and was not particularly clean. Do readers know that the volcano has erupted and Banos has been evacuated?
