This hostel is fantastic value for money. We loved it. The rooms are very spacious and clean, and the hostel itself has a really warm and friendly vibe. Great kitchen facilities and decent wifi. The hostel is centrally located in town, and the owner and staff are very friendly. They were happy to help with information on all local activities,...

We were so glad we chose to try here at 4 in the morn - the owner who had obviously just woken up - showed us to a room and let us sleep there for free for the night. He also gave us plenty of information about the town. Lovely owner, clean rooms and decent kitchen, Would definitely recommend.

While looking through Banos, we were a bit disappointed with the hostals: Most are either crowded, small rooms, dirty or too expensive. By chance we then went to Hostal Princesa Maria and loved it so much that we extended our stay: The owners are helpful with everything, the hostal is a bit away from the whole backpacker-and-everybody-wants-to-sell-you-a-tour thing, but still...

We arrived very early in the morning after a terrible night bus and were so relieved they had a room for us. The guy was super friendly and helpful considering we had just woken him up. The staff were really informative on what to do while you are in Baños so there is no reason to be sitting around doing...

Three of us shared a room for 2 nights. The room was clean. Very minimal though. We had what we needed though. Price was excellent also. $24pp for 2 nights. We did not cook but there was a small shared kitchen. The owner was very helpful and explained a lot of things about the area.

I have stayed at dozens of hostals, but Princesa Maria is my favorite. It is in a great location, clean, affordable and has the best owners/staff. It is a small hostal located on a hill just blocks from the city center. Located next to Princesa Maria is a farmer's market that has almost any type of produce you will ever...

There are soooooo many hostels in Banos it was hard to know where to start. But heaps of the hostels have horrible reviews so we made a beeline for Princesa when we arrived in Banos. We managed to get a room without a reservation but plenty of people we met weren't so lucky so bookahead if you can. This place...

Brilliant hostel. Cannot reccommend it enough. The rooms are warm, comfortable and spacious and we've had the hottest showers since arriving in Ecuador. The hostel is located a two minute walk, if that, from the centre of town meaning that you can easily go out at night if you want to or have a quiet nights sleep instead. The atmosphere...

The hostal is more like a home stay with a large family. Victor and his wife ensure that your stay is comfortable and relaxing. There is a strict rule about no noise after 11pm so if your expecting a party hostal do not come here. If you want a safe, happy and relaxing place to recharge the batteries then go...

We had such a good experience here! I was staying with 5 other girls and we felt completely safe the whole time. The owner is fantastic and friendly, and his daughter spends excellent English. They are around all the time, and gave us very honest advice for things to do with very legitimate companies, even at a discount. It was...
