I went on TriipAdvisor to find and book this. The photos show cute cabins nicely decorated. We were put in an upstairs old apt. built onto the owner's house. This is not what we paid for. Nowhere does it explain that there are a few nice cabins and then two old apts., nor does it ask you if you want a cabin or an apt. The apt. was very old and decorated with old beat-up second-hand store furnishings. The view was of the cute cabins. The walk to the start of Downtown was going down a very steep hill (see photos - it took two photos to show the length of the hill. You have to go down the hill to a small market to get supplies such as water since you can’t use their tap water. Walking up and down this hill is awful especially when you consider that it's very cold and windy and rains often. You can’t always get a taxi especially when 6 cruise ships are in and the weather is bad. The towels are terrible, they're very old and rough are what my rags are like at home which have been washed too many times with bleach and over-dried. Notice the furniture, what there is of furniture. We tried to leave the first day but the only place available was a hostel for one person (It was peak season and very crowded then). The internet barely worked - it kept going out, server probably was far away. I was in tears and tried to make the best of it but I wish we would have just left Ushuaia completely rather then stayed there.

Saludos coordiales

The place is amazing, with views of the channel and the service is amazing too. I booked my cabin (#5 DACHI) through AirBnB. Guadalupe received me when I arrived there and suggested me places in and around Ushuaia. She was even okay with late checkout based on my situation and called me a taxi whenever I was heading out. Overall - it was a great experience and would surely stay again when I go back to Ushuaia.

Every thing was excellent. The only draw back is that potable water was not available in the cabanas so we had to buy water from the grocery store. Other than that every thing was perfect. Great view from the living/dining room and one of the bedrooms.

We had 2 nights here in a 1 bedroom cabana. I believe the mother of the owner checked us in and didn't have much English, but we communicated well in "Spanglish", she was very helpful and welcoming. The cabin itself had incredible views of the Beagle Channel and had everything we needed. It is a short walk to town and restaurants. We also walked from the hotel up to Martial Glacier and did some other hiking on the way. There is a pizza place in the larger hotel next door that serves breakfast, although I wasn't impressed. I'd advise to make your own in the cabana. Would definitely recommend this place!

We (couple in our 60's) heard about Utaka after going to Ushuaia Tourist Information, because we wanted to move from our basic and 'tired' hostel. We were lucky, because although only the 6 person Campippe cabana was available, the owner's daughter at Reception gave us a very good pre-season rate. The cabana is in excellent condition, clean, comfortable and very well equipped with kitchen items. There is no road / nightlife noise. All cabanas have superb open views over the Beagle channel from their position on a small hill. The owner's daughter is very helpful, friendly and speaks superb English. A large supermarket is 5 minutes walk away. The only small downside is 10-15 minutes pleasant walk along eg sea front to the centre of town / bus terminal, but taxis are cheap at under £5 eg for when you arrive / depart with luggage. Utaka is on the airport side of town so an easy £7 taxi ride.
