I read other reviews and was surprised at some of the negative feedback. Personally, I was very pleased with the rates, location, and service during my stay in April 2019. It far exceeded my expectations with a great location, spacious, clean, comfortable room, and coffee in the morning. It's unlikely that you will find a better deal in this area (except perhaps on AirBnB if you're very lucky). Admittedly, there were some minor issues: The wifi was rather spotty. There were no English channels on TV. And I found breakfast to be somewhat underwhelming. But given the incredibly fair rates, none of these issues would influence my review rating.
The room smells, and there are blood stains on the bedsheets!!!! the hotel manager isn’t that helpful either, and attitude is just wrong. The food in the restaurant is possibly the worst I’ve tried all over Ushuaia.
A day before the trip to Ushuaia, the flight was cancelled. I called hotel to reschedule the reservation as I could not fly. But they refused saying that the hotel manager was not available. They even refused the refund! This is the worse experience I had in my life.
The hotel has one of the best exchange rates in Ushuaia. I definitely recommend it. The guy even exchange coins which is really rare in Argentina and South America in general. (Las mejores tasa de cambio de Ushuaia)
I usually do not write reviews unless someone provided super positive service, but this is an exception. I'm writing this to warn all the tourists especially non Spanish speakers who might be considering booking the hotel. My suggestion is ...don't. I booked this hotel at the last minutes because of the location. Yes I read the reviews but I thought I can do it if it is for one night. I would like you to know that the 50 percent of the stuff at the room/hotel is not working. Starting from lights, bathroom fan, Windows, heater, broken/dirty glasses etc. I requested to fix one of the Window because the cold air was coming in. (It was snowing outside) A maintenance/reception desk guy came in and tried to fix it. He told me that he tried but it not fixable and suggested to use extra blankets to sleep. I went to reception desk and talked to another person to fix the window or change room/refund so I can move to different hotel. A few minutes later same maintenance guy came back to my room with an attitude and broke something inside of the window cells and it was able to close most of it. When I checked in, I requested late check out the following day and the person at the reception desk said it is no problem and accepted to stay until noon next morning. Next morning after the breakfast ( which is pretty bad too), I wanted to let reception lady to not clean the room because I needed to do some errand in the morning but coming back and will checkout by noon. All of a sudden the maintenance guy came to the desk from nowhere and told me that I have to checkout by 10:00 because nobody left a note on the computer for my late checkout. I found the guy at the reception yesterday was working in the kitchen the morning and ask the maintenance guy to explain my late checkout was granted by him. The maintence guy with the attitude came back again and insisted that I should leave by 10:00 unless I pay 640 pesos. I tried to make a point of the nonsense and asked to reconsider my request politely. I was very surprised to hear at the end of the conversation by him saying that " we don't speak English. We only speak Spanish." I was humiliated in front of all the guests and decided to leave the hotel immediately. I request this hotel to list as Spanish only speaking hotel and consider retraining of employees for customer service skills if you want to keep them.…
