This place need rebuild! All is cracking and electricity is stuffed with ties. Terrible. All is maximal overpriced: the room for US$ 150/night and diner US$ 35 pp. One night the food was the cheapest they could make. 2 nights costs us US$ 460.- Though the park is wonderful, please avoid this place. Nowhere else to sleep. The NPS has...

We booked a room but ended up in a dirty, old cabana with missing electricity for one night, missing hot water the 2nd night and finally no water the 3rd day. Water was dropping and leaking into the bathroom while having shower. The overall building should be renovated. Extremely disappointed by the owner who does not care about the guest....

It is a place, founded in the 70ies, and hasn't changed since then. Furniture, bed covers, carpets. All is over used and worn out. The owner cooks the meals, and the dishes are very old fashioned with greasy sauces. You have no choice but to eat there as there is no restaurant or store in a radius of 200km. It...

We wanted to visit the Perito Moreno National Park and the only place to stay in the park itself is Estancia la Oriental. And the owners know they are the only ones! Paying 45 dollars for a simple dinner is really too expensive! No choice in menu as well so I had to eat fish which I do not like....

Staying at this estancia in the center of the magnificent Parque Nacional Perito Moreno is a privilege. Hiking in this area is an experience of a pristine Andean valley that humbles you with its natural beauty. The day trip we had of simply walking out of Estancia La Oriental's front door to view the condor cliffs and climb Cerro Leon...

This is a really nice place to stay for the loneliness and nature lovers. There are nice trekking trails to follow near the estancia and beautiful lakes to see. The dinner is served every evening at 9 pm and Eduardo is a great cook. Be careful, all the prices are in dollars and I recommend you to pay in this...

These people are trying to get most of the fact that sleeping options in this area are very limited. They ask about 4 times more than on other estancias. 120 ARS for one person in a tent on their camping place (no hot water, dirty and very spartan toilets) is just nonsense.

Stayed here for 3 nights; house chilly but we were well prepared with lots of layers! Family very welcoming but not much English; we had a Spanish speaker with us and got on well. Food was simple but very tasty. National Park was spectacular, marvellous views, great hiking but would be less enjoyable if we had not had a car.

A grubby, squalid single storey building with no endearing features. Think tasteless, heavily worn 1970s decor and you will have an idea of what it is like. The hosts' TV constantly blares out at deafening volume. The only positive point is that it has hot running water. Its main attraction is ostensibly the fact that it is the only accommodation...

In February 2006 we travelled 600 km up the Ruta 40 from El Calafate to the Parque Nacional Perito Moreno where we had booked to stay at Estancia La Oriental, the only lodging within the park. Whilst we had expected simple and fairly basic accommodation, we were tremendously disappointed when we arrived there. The decor was charmless and unattractive (melamine...
