This small, family owned and run hotel in the style of a Tuscan Villa was our base for a 3 night stay. It is quite charming, all suites designed in a way that immediately relax most guests, though from other reviews, not all. The staff could not have been more helpful - even fixed payment of my parking fine (doh) and made excellent recommendations for supper and exercise/outings. We drove the Seven Lake Drive on our first full day and Marcos was helpful in highlighting the must-do-stops. Continental breakfast is served overlooking gorgeous lake and is limited but excellent quality - eggs cooked separately if you wish, at no extra cost. Very comfortable room overlooking the lake.
The room we stayed in offered the best views we've ever had from a hotel: the Nahuel Huapi lake and the Andes mountains behind it, and don't forget that almost every good hotel in the region will have lakefront rooms, but the privileged location of this place in Villa La Angostura beats anyone I can Imagine. Since it was summer, not only the heated pool was inviting, an all-day long program, but the staircase leading to the lake shore means you have, in effect, a private beach, shared only by the guests from the neighbouring hotel. The water is very cold, but bearable, and crystal-clear The owners respected the enviroment so much that the staircase goes around a big fallen tree, instead of removing it, and the property even has some arrayanes that were more colorful than those in the famous grove. Being a small boutique hotel, with only eight rooms and a tuscan inspiration, it's a quiet place, and the silence is only broken by the birds and the small waves breaking in the beach when the wind gets stronger, not by noisy kids, so present elsewhere in the area. We stayed two nights, and the only problem of booking a longer period is that you might not want to leave the hotel at all, perhaps only to have lunch and walk Villa La Angostura's main street. Breakfest had to be simple, because it serves few guests, but was delicious, and all the hotel staff was very friendly and attentive. We would definitely stay there again if we go back to Villa La Angostura…
We had been warned about the steep drive, but having nosed our way down in our hire car, we then had to turn around in a very tight space as the parking was full and climb back up the precipitous drive! The room was very large and airy, with fabulous views of the lake, however, the stairs to the room are not well lit and the storage space was lacking. That said, the bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room spotlessly clean. There was a certain amount of noise from the wildlife (?ducks, ?crows) and early morning boats. Breakfast was simple but delicious. The staff were delightful and very helpful
The property is beautiful, has the best views of the Nahuel Huapi Lake. Rooms are very big and clean. Pool is great and so is the general area (lobby). The staff is amazing and Markus was extremely helpful and knowledgeable.
Stayed here for a total of four nights. The rooms are lovely (aside from a foul sewer smell coming from the shower drains), as is the view of the lake and breakfast. However, the staff are not accommodating and quite rude. I asked if I could do a load of laundry - for the price they charge, asking to do a load of laundry MYSELF isn’t an unreasonable request. I would have even done it later in the day as to not delay their own laundry needs. They refused, so I spent half my afternoon (on vacation) driving into town and finding a laundromat they recommended. The laundromat destroyed all of my clothes, and now I have to purchase a new wardrobe. Is it Luma Casa’s direct fault? No. But could this have been avoided if they would have made a reasonable accommodation and let me do one load of laundry? Yes. Part of being a “luxury” hotel involves doing what you can to make your guests stay pleasant. They even say in their welcome packet to ask them for any requests and they’ll do it. But they didn’t. Now I’m left paying for a new wardrobe. Luma Casa ruined what was supposed to be a good vacation.…
