We really liked the accommodation here and the breakfast view from the wine bar is unbeatable. Our only minor issue was the service level. Staff answered questions but not much more than that. If you have a chance, carefully cross the road out front and go down to the beach below - simply stunning.

Very comfortable and quiet in a gorgeous area. Nothing extravagant, but certainly more than adequate. . Only one or two staff members speak English to a limited extent, and WiFi reliability issues were my only negatives.

Paihuen is a resort that includes many log houses grouped as 4 apartments per unit. Built with rocks and wood, large windows, it is a quality place to visit and stay. Well decorated and maintained, service is excellent. The club house, where breakfast is served is a spectacular mannor building, also in rocks and rich wood, overlooking Lake Lacar. Breakfast alone is an issue to be mentioned: more than good and plenty. There are tennis courts and indor/(outdorr pools, sauna, etc. Rooms are well equiped with full kitchens where you really can cook if preferred to dinning at the excellent Winebar (great cheese fondue). Wifi, large screen TVs, etc. And if travelling in the winter, heating is above average all around. Close to Chapelco Ski Resort, where Paihuen has a little warm lodge with free tea, coffee, sweets, wine, etc. for their guests at the base of the mountain, it only takes about 20 minutes from park to park, even with heavvy snow (provided you use correct tyres). They also offer you a frequent transfer to the ski lanes if you do not want to drive your car. In summer, it must be an incredible place to stay in while visiting San Martin de los Andes, close and far enough of noisy downtown, it is only a five minutes drive from the best restaurants in San Martin.

Stopped here in low season on a recommendation and liked it a lot. Got a nice apartment overlooking the lake and slept very well here. There's a nice WineBar/Restaurant too where we ate Pizza's and had excellent Patagonian wine.

We spent a week in summer with family in a 3 bedroom 3 bathroom bungalow sleeping 7 and we were not cramped. The bungalows are nice with a decent kitchen (no dishwasher) and a nice deck . They also have lots of stairs ! Despite some comments the breakfast (served 8.30 to 11.30 in summer) is good for Argentine standards, with scrambled eggs (a bit salty) plenty of fruit and fruit juices, croissants , brioches and different breads for toast, and several different cereal alternatives. Staff is helpful ,although slow at the 2 restaurants . You can park close to your bungalow . There is a great sunny swimming pool , with amazing views , game room for kids and a library with lots of books if the weather gets bad. It is very close to a beach on the lake, but you have to cross the main highway to get there. It is not cheap, but having gone right after a recent devaluation of the peso , it was reasonable for the quality of the place.
