We adored everything about Rincon Chico. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating, the sights were spectacular, the room very comfortable, and meals delicious. We don't know what our favorite part of our 3 night stay was. Augustin, owner and guide, knew exactly the time and place to be to see certain sights and/or animals. It was all just perfect.... More

We stayed 2 nights here. It was full on from the moment we arrived. Lunch and we were off on our first excursion to view elephant seals and orcas. The meals are prepared with care but no choice on the menu; either you eat it or you don't. Very simple and not much variety. The rooms are small. Electricity limited... More

You can understand previous comments like 'once in a lifetime trip' when you visit Estancia Rincon Chico. It's a beautiful ranch and we were spoilt with wildlife - including some great orca sightings. The hosts, Agustin, Maria and Ramona make the experience even more special. Agustin's tours are superb; he's overflowing with passion and knowledge and is great fun. Maria... More

Great place with lots on offer. Lovely accommodation, food and wine. Agustin and Maria are superb hosts and Agustin's knowledge of the wildlife is hugely impressive. Highly recommend. Very remote but the solitude and nature is a real treat. We were fortunate to see Orcas 3 days in a row - an unforgettable experience.

We stayed at Rincon Chico in 2014. This was our second trip to Argentina and we decided to visit a second time, indeed it was high on our list of priorities. We were not disappointed. The rooms are a reasonable size and very comfortable. The food, prepared by Maria, and very well supported by Ramona is excellent. The areas around... More

Overwhelming nature and immense hospitality. The scale is small (8 rooms) so your the treatment is very personal. Great hosts. Augustin showed us the special spots, where nature is overwhelming, Maria did fabulous cooking. We had an amazing time. Augustin is not only entertaining and with great knowledge of nature but also very funny! Very amiable and warm people.

Authentic with a modern touch, great hospitality, tasty local food, you feel at home instantly. Augustini takes you with him on tours and walks over his land and teaches you first hand about sheepfarming and nature. It is a working farm. The farm pumps its own water en generates its own electricity. Farming is done with a lot of respect... More

What a wonderful place this is! We stayed three nights in this very nice estancia which is owned by lovely Maria and her enthusiastic husband Agustin. The estancia has been owned by Maria's family for five generations since they settled here. The couple built this small lodge with 8 rooms some 15 years ago and are really passionate about what... My husband and I stayed here for two days in November as part of our honeymoon in Argentina, and it was certainly a highlight of our trip. Not only is the estancia beautiful, Maria & Augustin, the hosts, welcoming and food wholesome, the real delights are the access to the wildlife, so brilliantly guided by Augustin, and the stunning scenery.... We stayed here for 3 nights, and absolutely loved the experience. It is a wonderful way to explore the peninsula and its wildlife - having driven round the peninsula ourselves, the exploring of the estancia with the fantastically knowledgeable and helpful Agustin provided a completely different and much more personal and rewarding experience. Sitting feet away from elephant seals was... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Rincon Chico Ranch is an exclusive property located in the southeast corner of the Valdes Peninsula on the Patagonian Sea coast, one of the richest marine areas on Earth harboring populations of right whales, elephant seals, sea lions, orcas, penguins, and numerous species of birds and fish. For this reason the site was declared "World Heritage Site" by UNESCO in 1999. The owners are the fifth generation of settlers that inhabited the Peninsula over 120 years ago, and continuing with pride the tradition of their ancestors to breed extra fine Australian Merino sheep for wool production since 1897. In 1996 they incorporated into the activities with a prestigious group of scientists the study and conservation of wildlife, and since 2001 opened the doors to share with guests from all around the world the experience of living in this unique place surrounded by nature. ... more   less
