I want to start off by saying that this hotel was good value. Considering I only paid $60 USD a night, it was fine but I definitely wouldn't stay here again. Pros: 1) It's a quaint place with nice decor with nice views around 2) Pool is nice (although should be heated up further..it's slightly warm but not warm enough) Cons: 1) Flies everywhere during Spring and Summer. While that's not the hotel's fault, they can easily put in window screens to prevent flies from coming in 2) Staff doesn't speak any english (I know enough spanish to get by) 3) Paper thin walls 4) It's out of the way from the city center and the roads to get there is not in great condition 5) Door is weird and doesn't really close fully so you have to jam it shut 6) Breakfast is awful and again flies everywhere This place has potential because the location around the mountains is good...fix the little things and maybe add a patio to enjoy the views and it'd be much better

I was very pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We booked one night here and one night at Terrazas hotel boutique because Terrazas was unavailable our first night. Terrazas is supposed to be more upscale but I think el reposo topped it. This place was exceptionally clean. The towels were fluffy and bedding smelt of freshly washed laundry. The room felt very newly renovated and was modern but had a rustic charm to it. The medialunas and libritos at breakfast were as good as my mother-in-law buys. The only downside was the location, it’s quite a walk from the main square. That said, It’s quiet and very close to the main attractions in Tilcara (garganta del diablo and Pucara). Will definitely return if we’re in the area again.

Our time here was quiet, except for the ubiquitous barking dogs. We had a second floor room which was clean and basic. The bed was comfortable and they served good food. Only one or two of the staff speak any English. Most of the other guests were Argentine families.

On the outside of Tilcara via a unpaved road is the well maintained Hotel with nice rooms and some nice view.Breakfast is good for Argentinian standards and with fresh orange juice.Swimming pool is more an enlarged warm Jacuzzi: nice to lay in on chilly evenings.Room was spacious with good bed.Local places to eat at 15 min walk. Personal only speaks Spanish (as amidst everywhere in Arg). We had a good, discussion deal and therefore good ratio to quality.

We were here in late Spring. Beautiful, very comfortable hotel; lovely spacious double room, charming decor. Far enough away from the busier part of Tilcara that it was fairly quiet, although I'll note barking dogs just seem to come with the territory everywhere. We were on an extended birding tour in Jujuy and Salta provinces and this was hands down the best of all the places we stayed. No issues with water for us as others have reported. I wasn't driving, but noted it might have been hard to find if not for the helpful signs guiding you at every turn. :-) The restaurant was quite good both for dinner (with a nice wine selection) and breakfast. I hope I can return some day.
