Afetr spending a few nights in a Hotel in Palermo we decided to try a spot of 'self catering' in Recoletta by renting one of the apartments here for 8 nights. We were luck enough to be upgraded to a 2 bed apartment as there were no 'executive' rooms available so we had bags of space to spread out and...

We liked the Art/Suites apar-hotel in Recoleta a lot. The rooms are minimally furnished but the essentials are there; reading lights on both sides of the Queen size bed; hair dryer in the bathroom; tea kettle in the kitchen; safe in the closet that is easy to work and enough closet space and shelves for storage. They bring breakfast when...

We stayed at the Art Suites for six nights during our visit to Buenos Aires. The hotel is quiet and peaceful. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. There are two suites per floor with the premium apartment facing the street and the executive apartment facing the courtyard. Breakfast is delivered to your room each morning at the time of your...

Unbeatable location, in the middle of Recoleta, great location to walk from. The apartments are decent, clean, try to get the one bedroom penthouse if available. The only flaw (major flaw) was the shower as it had no pressure at all. I complained and the employee told me it was supposed to be like that (remember that Seinfeld episode?) Then...

Location, location, location. It was our first trip to Buenos Aires, and we loved the Barrio Norte neighborhood of Art Suites. There was a Coto grocery, several restaurants, fruit and veggie shop, news stand, subte stop, bank, pharmacy (and all of Santa Fe) within 5-10 minute walk. We walked at night and felt quite safe. When we were going farther...

This was a nice appartment in a good neighbourhood. Check in was smooth, this was done in the office as there is no reception. It is really an appartment block with a doorman/concierge. The room was fine, a one bed appartment with a small kitchenette. The furnishings were fairly spartan but it was clean and tidy with plenty of closet...

The Art Suites Hotel is an apartment hotel in a neighborhood that is similar to Manhattan's Upper West Side. We stayed in a one-bedroom apartment for 5 nights in March. This is not a luxurious property but it is clean and comfortable and is located in a great neighborhood. The kitchen is very small with a tiny refrigerator and stove...

We traveled to BA to visit our college age son who is studying there. There were 4 of us in a spacious 2 bed/2 bath. The staff was very prompt and clear with all reservations and questions. Our room was ready when we arrived and we were warmly welcomed. the decor is somewhat spartan but absolutely comfortable and modern. The...

After a number of extraordinarily beautiful hotels in the countryside, Art Suites' rooms seemed a bit sparse, but their spaciousness made up for a lot, and it's a place that seems to be good value. The multilingual staff were very helpful, letting us leave behind our luggage after we left, and even arranging for us to use a vacant room...

My friends and I stayed at the Art Suites for few nights at the end of December 2008. The hotel offered a true2 bedroom apartment that was comfortably furnished and the staff was pleasant. A simple Continental breakfast was delivered on time as requested each morning. The location in lovely Recoleta was nice but that doesn’t really matter in BA...

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
