Wow. We have stayed at many top-notch hotels -- a variety of Park Hyatts, Mandarin Orientals, Four Seasons, Ritz Carltons, etc., -- but this hotel is off-the-charts total luxury. We spent just a bit more for a suite, and it was the size of an apartment. If you visit here, you can expect an elegant room, impeccable service, a lovely...

Let me start by saying Buenos Aires is the cosmopolitan, most exciting and european city in South America. Its actually very much like Paris. Amazing food, design, art, fashion it has it all. Very happy stay here.It was my honeymoon and this was the perfect hotel for it. This is a refurbished and luxurious historic building, formerly owned by one...

My family's first trip to Argentina and we spent 3 nights at the Palacio Duhau. I travel quite a bit (mostly for work unfortunately) and this was perhaps the best hotel experience I have had. First, the location is excellent, a wonderful neighborhood and convenient to many of the places you want to see in BA. The property itself is...

Unfortunately I was only at this hotel for a very short time, I wished it had been longer. I found the hotel to be one of the best I have ever stayed at anywhere in the world. A fantastic combination of classic and modern decor, the food in the restaurant is to die for and the ambiance in the bar...

We've stayed at the Park Hyatt on five other occasions. We've looked at other hotels in the Recoleta area. The Park Hyatt is still our #1 choice. Wonderful rooms, wonderful pool and spa, wonderful gardens, wonderful restaurants, wonderful staff. There are many restaurants, bars and shops within easy walking distance. We've used the Park Hyatt as our base when traveling...

What I Liked Most: Attention to detail; the politeness and unobtrusiveness of the staff What I Liked Least: Difficult to make any constructive criticism The Hyatt is tucked away in a side street in leafy Recoleta, the “Knightsbridge” of Buenos Aires. It is a former palace, though that does not stop the rooms from being extremely modern. I do come...

We really enjoyed our stay at Park Hyatt Palacio Duhau Buenos Aires. This hotel is unique, a mix of the classic golden years of Argentina with all modern luxury of a high standard 5 star hotel. Top location in Recoleta's Alvear Av., with a really nice garden to enjoy and relax from the city vibes. The personnel at the hotel,...

While the Park Hyatt buildings are indeed lovely the service appears to be resting on its laurels. Returning from a tango show at midnight we were told the only bar open was the cigar-friendly library bar. On further inquiry we were told if we wanted to have a cocktail we should go to the Four Seasons. Having stayed there last...

This is a gorgeous hotel in a great Recoleta location. Room had lots of space and was very modern with outlets for US devices. Housekeeping was especially good and did an excellent job. We attended their wine/cheese and tango event, which was OK, but not sure it was worth almost 500 pesos per person. Fitness center and spa are very...

Staying in Recoleta

Neighbourhood Profile
Recoleta
Characterised by the French-style mansions which are the legacy of its aristocratic past, Recoleta is the true “Paris of the South.” Walking around this neighbourhood is an experience like no other in Buenos Aires: its streets are lined with elegant apartment buildings, exclusive boutiques, and former mansions turned into high-end hotels and embassies, which exude an alluring air of sophistication and class. You'll also find a rich cultural scene centred on the National Museum of Fine Arts, the National Library, and the Recoleta Cultural Center; as well as some great shopping spots, like the Buenos Aires Design Mall with an artists' fair set up in Plaza Francia every weekend.
