This was an average place in my not so demanding standards. The electricity sockets were broken. There were no light bulbs in the bathroom. But it was reasonably clean, quiet, OK location, and didn't cost too much.

We stayed here for a while but won't be back. The room is quite small, but clean. The curtains, however, are completely transparent. When the light is on in the room anyone can see through. It would be quite easy to put thicker curtains up, instead of having see through curtains. The wifi was almost non-existent and one day crashed,...

The problems started with this place on arrival when they insisted that we'd showed up a day late. Luckily I'd printed off our conformation in Spanish but what should've been an easily rectified mistake took a conversation every day with a different staff member to make sure we'd actually have a room on our third night. On arrival we weren't...

This has been definitely the worst experience of all my traveler life. First night 10/9/2015 they firstly assign us the room 206, so we go sightseeing and when we come back they have changed us the room, moving all our stuff without asking(!!!). The new room 107 has no key, we have to sleep the first night with the door...

This place was well located. The building itself is beautiful, the room small but well equipped, but what really made our stay were the hosts. Always available to provide information, help out, or just have a general chat. Breakfast was available every day on the terrace and there was also a living room if you wanted to go read a...

This hostel was a great price for the room - large private room with clean, shared bathroom. We only stayed one night but it was a great location with easy transport between the ferry terminal and the airport. The front desk was friendly with restaurant suggestions and let us hang out in the lobby after checkout. A great breakfast was...

This hard to find gem close to Ave. 9th Julio on Ave. Mexico is simply so because its entrance way is just a closed door with a small sign in the glass above the door. Then stairs to the reception, rooms and more stairs if you are on the second floor... Easy public access routes both local transit and to...

No complaints about this place - really good value and would recommend it. Rooms are clean and quiet although slightly small. Although on a scruffy street, the location is good and safe. The staff are super helpful, helping us with tours and currency exchange. Their English is not good, but our basic Spanish and Google translate got us through!

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
