The hotel is very well located, near the nicest parts of the city. The interior is spacious, well designed. Service is very good, with all staffmembers speaking english as weel as spanish. Rooms are excellent, around 40 square meters, including the bathroom. Flatscreen tv with around 90 channels. A good gym is located in the basement, next to the pool....

Recently stayed in the Emperador during a trip to Argentina to watch some rugby. Stayed there for 4 x nights in a twin share room. The rooms were well appointed, and very spacious (particularly the twin rooms) while the staff were also very helpful and friendly. The hotel is situated at the bottom end of Avenida 9 de Julio, so...

My husband and I traveled to Buenos Aires for our belated honeymoon and stayed at three different hotels during our 11-day adventure. We were at the Emperador Hotel for 3 nights, from 07-Sept thru 10-Sept-2012. The Emperador is on the border of the Retire and Recoleta neighborhoods. Great location -within walking distance to Av. 9 De Julio, Palacio San Martin,...

My recent stay at the Emperador Hotel with a group of colleagues proved to be a more than satisfactory one. On our arrival we were helped in a very efficient way by the girls at the front desk who made our check in speedy. I have stayed here several times. I like the hotel, even if it is from the old school. The huge lobby, with bar, restaurant and a nice open area for just hanging around. Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
