My BF and I visited the lovely city of Buenos Aires in March. Such a perfect time to go as the weather is phenomenal. We stayed at Faena for 5 nights. This hotel is in a new and upcoming area. Our check-in was smooth and the hotel staff was helpful (they made many of our restaurant reservations). Upon arrival we...

Our Faena experience started with a driver meeting us at the airport. Inside the car, a welcome box included water, apples and roasted nuts which was a great touch. Here's the first time I noticed the lack of attention to detail: they give you all that stuff, but you can't take the box to the room with you, so you...

This hotel is exceptional. The decor is done in deep reds and purples - it makes you feel that you are surrounded by the rich and famous. The rooms are all state of the art and the bar is great. Very pricey but worth it if it fits your budget.

This is hands down my favorite hotel in Buenos Aires, everything from the customer service (everyone from the people at front desk, to the lovely experience managers and the boys at the front door), to the decor and food is amazing. I agree with Monsterloco - the food and ambiance were great, but the service at El Mercado wasn't on par. The dishes were also dirty. We didn't stay here but had a tour of the hotel. Prices were also a little steep, but the property is beautiful. At El Mercado, we had salad with prosciutto, beets, and goat cheese which...

Staying in Puerto Madero

Neighbourhood Profile
Puerto Madero
From its refurbished red brick buildings and port cranes to its modern skyscrapers and luxurious apartment buildings, Puerto Madero is the perfect combination of old and new. The river provides a quiet, relaxing atmosphere that contrasts with the hustle and bustle of heavy traffic just blocks away. Across the river, flanked by skyscrapers, are beautiful parks and quiet streets that make this neighbourhood a unique destination in a city as busy as Buenos Aires. The restaurants, bars, and nightclubs on the docks make it a prime spot for nights out and have come to symbolise this area. Puerto Madero is even more striking after dark, when the lights from the docks and skyscrapers glow against the night sky.
