Convenient location in walking distance to Calle Florida and, a little further away but still manageable, Recoleta. Huge rooms which are a little old fashioned and run down, though not a big issue. Great breakfast and nice rooftop terrace, although pool is small and shallow and not for swimming. All staff I encountered were nice and helpfull.

What a great find in a great location for a very reasonable price. All the front desk clerks speak English and are very helpful. Room is huge, modern, and very clean. Only thing I didn't like was having to pay for in room coffee so I just waited until breakfast, which is included. Hotel is in the Retiro district, very...

This hotel is well placed in that it is close enough to the centre for you to walk there, but it is far enough away to be relatively quiet. It is also less than a five minute walk to the San Martin Underground Station and is extremely well served by buses. If like me, you decide to travel on by...

Being located in Recoleta and close to the Sofitel the Feirs Park is in a good area in Buenos Aires. Also the surrounding apartment buildings are inhabited by a higher social class. So we felt quite safe in the area. One still has to be careful because on the other side of the big road Avenida Libertador is the Retiro...

This hotel not only met but also exceeded my expectations. As a local in Buenos Aires, I needed a hotel only once, for some time. The first reason I chose this was because of its more than excellent and convenient location. Short walking distance to: -Recoleta (the poshest area of BsAs!) -Surrounded by some of the most unique and fabulous...

We were advised by friends that this hotel was a good one, and it was. Quiet, roomy, and well located near good restaurants and the fashionable Retiro district, it was all we could ask for. By North American standards it was cheap, though that may have to do with Argentinian inflation more than anything else.

We have stayed in this hotel for 7 nights in two different rooms and was glad with their service. Rooms were large, comfortable and clean with hardwood floors (we requested hardwood but they have some carpet rooms as well). Breakfast was decent, location was very good and the staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. Overall, very nice...

Old classic hotel, but very well kept. Service at the reception was very good and professional! Location is super convenient - just between and within 10-15 minutes walking distance to Florida street or Recoleta! Just in front is a big supermarket and good restaurants are all around. My room 808 was VERY comfortable, spacious and with a good view of...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
