Stayed here for three nights and then returned for another night after side trip. Hotel was great in storing our extra bags and greeting us upon return. The hotel has a great location in downtown BA. You can walk to many of the sites--which we...More

Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with
ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.

You can arrange this with the concierge service. See the Park Tower Buenos Aires hotel website and there is a link at the top of the page for transportation information and arrangements with the hotel.

I would be careful walking around too much without getting guidance from the concierge. I say that because one night we decided to walk back from the mall and our GPS took us behind the hotel on a street that ran parallel to the main street that the hotel is on and it was very scary. It was about 6 pm at night and dark. Thankfully, a security guard to another building allowed us to cut through otherwise I have no idea what would have happened. Also, we were told by a local that a park near our hotel was dangerous. So just ask the concierge where you should and shouldn't walk.
