Like all hotels in Downtown B.A. this is a fairly old building. The rooms are confortable and clean. The bathrooms could be beter. The staff is cordial and polite, but they do try to sell you overpriced rides and shows. Breakfast is good, with a lot of choices and good food. The hotel is very well located, near everything you...

The room was clean and comfortable but hotel seemed tired. Breakfast was included and very basic. It was convent location and tours did pick up from it. Had a drink in bar one night and felt we were imposing asking for service. I would look around for something else before booking again.

If you want to choose this hotel, I have to leave my common to remind you to be careful with the lying staffs. When we check out from the hotel today, our friends came with a taxi to send us to airport. And then ,the staffs who hold our bags told me that there is FREE service to drive us to airport...

Dear Tiantian W, I am the CEO of the hotel. We have gone through the incident in detail and I want to offer you my sincere apologies and explain to you our mistake. The bellboy that assisted you with your luggage assumed that you had booked the room with one of our travel agencies that offers airport transfer. While we...

Definitely not near the standard of a four star hotel. Basic breakfast, old building, poor state of refurbishment, poor television channel choice (only one English news channel with sound). We found the hotel reasonably quiet and the room comfortably sized but the bathroom way to cramped and the shower requires one stands in the bath.

A little disappointing with a very basic breakfast (which seems to be the norm in Argentina) but the room was okay if a little tired. Plenty of hot water and the TV had BBC world news (again rare in Argentina and Chile)

I booked this hotel because it was part of a package. I was very pleased to find out that it is 1 block from Santa Fe avenue and 9 de julio avenue. There are subway stations near and bus stops as well. Breakfast is very good, they serve fruit salad, cereal, yogurt, different kinds of bread, cheese, ham, jam, eggs,...

BEWARE! I booked this online selecting to pay at the hotel as is necessary given Argentina's dual exchange rate (otherwise you pay 30% more). To my surprise, they DEMANDED UPFRONT PAYMENT for the WHOLE stay. Since it was 8 pm I was unable to exchange dollars. Although I pointed out to the manager that the whole matter revolved around giving...

Although the Hotel is well located, it is dirty , and in desperate need of refurbishment. We did not find the Reception staff, or the Bar staff very helpful, or friendly- everything appeared to be too much trouble for them, even though we had stayed at the hotel for 5nights!!! We did, however, find the porters very helpful, and accomadating....

We stayed there for 4 nights in February 2015. Convenient location, good value for the price. Very clean, staff very friendly, were allowed a late check-out without any other fees. There is a convenient store across the street where you can buy snacks and water. We had problems with the toilet, we called the front desk and 5 minutes later...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
