I stayed twice here within 10 days and I must say it was a good experience. It's central and the rooms are pretty comfortable. Not a castle, but for the money you pay it's ok. On our second visit the TV wasn't working in our room so they gave us complimentary breakfast, which was a good solution. I recommend it if you are travelling on a budget.
The best and only thing about this hotel is its location. Shower in bathroom had no hair dryer a shelf to put toiletries and dirty shiwer was falling apart for a four star hotel! Breakfst was poor. The hotel is quite old.
The location was excellent near Obelisco ( down town , near 3 metro station ) . The breakfast was very good , taste , signal for internet was very good in room . Lobby man was ok .The hotel it is clean , a little outdated .
we arrived late after our flight from ushuaia. At the reception the employee told us that they had technical issue and need to transfert us to another hotel ie unique san palermo! in fact I am sure they overbook us as many people were moving around and elevator were active!! I did ask to speak to the manager but nobody came up. The employee was not speaking good english to ensure the alternative hotel was aware! the unique san telmo has been awfull! very noisy in and out so that we did not sleep at all. The worse hotel we had in 3 weeks trip
Stayed there for 1 night on a recent trip. I stayed at 3 different hotels in Buenos Aires during this trip, and this was probably my favourite. Very centrally located, right next to the obelisk and therefore very convenient for exploring the central area. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large and spacious. There is even a little balcony you can step out onto with a view of the obelisk. However, by no means perfect. I found a stain on one of the pillows. There is a bathtub that has no bath plug, so I guess we are meant to only shower. The mini-fridge is hidden in the closet and a rail on the floor for the closet door prevents you from actually opening the fridge door. I guess no one is dumb enough to drink out of the mini-bar anyway. These are fairly minor problems in my eyes and certainly did not adversely affect my enjoyment much. I left early next morning to catch a flight, so did not have breakfast and sadly can’t comment on it.…
We stayed overnight. The facilities were outdated. Beds were unclean and smelled like mold. While my niece was taking a shower the faucet fell off. The elevator was also very old and noisy. We could not sleep. I would not recommend it, even the location is central, it is kind of a dangerous area.
This was a lovely quaint hotel. In a very central location. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to freinds and family. There is a lovely viewing station right outside the hotel and some excellent restaurants and bars within walking distance
Very well located, staffs are nice in general, but rates are pricy for what they offer. Very Old rooms, taps never closes completely, breakfast is ok. Asked for a bottle opening and apparently the hotel didn’t have one to lend me. Typical stuff of lazy staff...
Central location, dangerous area, nice staff and absolutely terrible room conditions. Nothing worked properly. We had balcony with dead plants and dirty, broken lounge chair. Bathroom condition was terrible. All bathroom faucets were leaking and water could be shut off, towels were gray from age. Bed sheets were equally old and not fresh. TV did not work. Get a better place to stay and enjoy Buenos Aires.
I booked this hotel on Booking.com and I would not recommend booking here. When We arrived they said they had a 'water problem' and that they would be transferring us immediately to another hotel which was the 'same'. After taking 3 connecting flights in one day and having a suitcase lost this was the last thing we wanted to deal with but they insisted that there wasn't another option. The hotel we were transferred to in Recoleta was definitely not the same quality. There were damp patches on the wall, the bathroom was falling apart, the lift was so noisy and went all night long and they were decorating outside our door while we were staying there. At one point we opened the door and there was a ladder right outside. After much complaining to Unique Central they said they had a 'cancellation' so we could now go back to them for the rest of the stay. Curious the only reason that we could go back there is because of a cancellation when we we're meant to have a booking there anyway?!? We asked them to reduce our bill by one night due to the inconvenience and time having to sort everything out plus having to stay in a sub par hotel. They refused. We then had to spend more time out of our holiday arguing about it. We even asked booking.com for help but in the end the maximum they would give us was $25 off the bill and booking.com said this was reasonable. We disagree. Looking at other reviews on here this has happened to other guests and I imagine the hotel overbooks their rooms and then whoever checks in first gets the space they have available. In addition booking.com have yet to post this same review so I wonder what that is about...…
