This is my second trip to BA and first time at the Sofitel there. This is a luxury hotel in a pleasant part of BA. We stayed in a standard room which was sophisticated in style, although not overly large. The wardrobe was small and there was no tea and coffee making facilities. The room had a safe that was...

A well serviced hotel. All staff were friendly and well spoken English which was really helpful, more about that later. Situated in downtown, it is nestled in what seemed a quieter part of town. A mini supermarket is located adjacent to the hotel so you can stock up on you snacks and drinks. The room was well appointed but only...

The rooms are great and the location brilliant, but for me what makes Sofitel special is the staff. They bend over backwards to help you but never make it obvious. Traditional style hotel, impeccable. I think it's expensive, but worth the treat ( I didn't pay for myself so don't exactly know). Breakfast was wonderful - a very wide range...

The Sofitel hotel in Buenos Aires is a top 5 star hotel with super rooms, a nice Spa and great location. We booked the hotel for an international Latam America sales event for around 50 people and did never regret our decision. The service level is high und the staff is friendly and supportive. Every meal (breakfast, lunch) in this...

Fabulous hotel. Great location, beautiful rooms, top-class service, exceptional bar and restaurant, one of the very best hotels I in which I have stayed in South America in many years of travelling in this part of the world.

We stayed here for 1 week. The staff was very courteous and the hotel was impeccable. The only reason I am giving it 4 stars is because the AC would not work properly in the room, so it was a bit muggy and hot.

We stayed at the Sofitel for 2 nights prior to our Antarctica adventure. The rate was included in our package, so I can't comment on value for the money, but we loved it. We had a nice corner room that was spacious by this hotel's standards. It was quiet (overlooking the street), clean and nicely appointed. Although there were no...

A tour booked this hotel. Five star. Had the absolutely best bed I've ever had in a hotel. Beautiful, had a gym, charming bar for drinks and snacks, good breakfast. Concierge was very helpful in arranging a private birding tour for me.

We stayed here, because our tour company (A&K) had made arrangements for us to be here before we left for our cruise. Although we did elect to extend our stay here both before and after the cruise was over. This hotel is very nice - lovely restaurant and bar area, very good albeit expense food and really first class rooms....

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
