We stayed here on my points and weren't disappointed. I've stayed in a number of Marriott hotels and this is up there with the best. If they can upgrade you, they do and we were fortunate enough to get a beautiful junior suite for our three night stay with huge lounge, huge bedroom and ample natural light. The executive lounge...

My wife and I stayed at the Marriott Plaza in Buenos Aires from January 16th through the 23rd. The hotel is in a very well kept historical building on San Martin plaza at the end of the busy Florida shopping street in downtown BA. The hotel was absolutely first class with an amazing staff and a perfect and safe location....

We had a great experience at the Marriott. Location was great, right at end of Florida St. We always felt safe even at night. We booked on Travelocity and there was an option for a suite for same price as regular room, suite was huge, king size room w flat screen, seprate bathroom, and seprate living room w c48" tv,...

Beautiful hotel!! Loved the location and the soft king size beds make you want to lay in bed all day!! Perfect. On my honeymoon this was the best hotel of the 3 we stayed in BA. Would go back. Beautiful historic location.

I am a Marriott Platinum Elite member and stay at a minimum of one, and typically multiple, Marriotts each week in my business travels. I read with interest and curiousity the diversity of the reviews on this hotel when planning my week-long vacation and first-time trip to BA. While there were some very positive reviews, there were also some very...

After an overnight flight from Miami, we were allowed to check into a room at 8:30am, which was wonderful. The room was great, nice and bright with a nice bathroom. The bell staff was eager to help with our luggage on arrival and departure. The breakfast room was bright and cheery and the food was good. On our return stay...

We spent three nights here and it was marvelous. There is a subway station within 3 mins. walk and it is easy to get to most areas by public transport or taxi. The staff were friendly and helpful and the hotel is comfortable, yet full of character. It is across the road from a pedestrian only street that is full...

I've been reading complains about the hotel but I don't have any. The Front Desk was not the best, but it was ok. The rooms were gorgeous and in perfect shape. It's an old hotel so it has a special flare. The location is fantastic. Some people prefer to stay in Palermo, but to stay in the center has its...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
