This hotel could be really nice with some TLC and better attention to guest services. Our room was a nice size, but was equipped with very little to make us feel welcomed; no complimentary water, only two towels, no hairdryer, no plug adapters. We could not walk up to the bar and buy a bottle of water--they insisted on delivering...

Older hotel that has lost its ability to be a Marriott Hotel. Quality is average at best. Restaurants were undergoing renovation, food was served in bar with very poor service and poor quality. Hotel is in need of renovation.

I stayed here for two nights and was pleased with my stay. The hotel is situated in Plaza San Martin and is nice to stroll in. The hotel is also just a couple blocks away from the Galeria mall, where there are plenty of shopping and food options. The rooms were nice, and the hotel staff was very friendly. I...

Our room (and the hotel too) was sub-par. Although good sized, it had only one small chair at the desk. The walls were bare; the bathroom had a large chip in the tub. In the two days we were there at least one elevator was always inoperable - very slow! Internet service was free only in the lobby. According to...

The public spaces are decent and the lobby front desk staff are friendly. Rooms are spacious and in need of renovation. Everything seems to be A la carte. You must request a hair dryer. There is a coffee maker, but you must ask for coffee. Water is NOT complimentary. There are small bottles of shampoo and conditioner and bath gel....

Aging Grand Dame of a hotel, it's easy to imagine it's past greatness. Room's and bathrooms adequate with most amenities. Surprisingly good fitness center. Limited dining options in the hotel but great location with excellent restaurants within a few blocks. All the elevators broke down during our stay and there were other clear signs of aging. Were not surprised when...

The service for the most part is good. The people are somewhat nice. Just don't ask for coffee. When we arrived at our hotel, the porter showed us to our room. Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
