From the moment we stepped inside the Hotel Patios de San Telmo, it was a perfect experience. The staff was always helpful and went above and beyond in providing information, adaptors, or whatever we needed. The room was large and airy. Breakfast was excellent, served as a buffet with eggs made to order and served at the table. It was...

The bad: wifi was continually going in and out the entire stay. You have to go to reception and have them reset the router. It was extremely annoying. There is a court yard to get to many of the rooms. Full of misquotes and you get wet from rain going to/from your room to the lobby. Bathrooms need a renovation;...

We enjoyed our stay at Patios de San Telmo... As our South American sojourn came and went from Buenos Aires, this hotel became our base. We stayed in three different rooms and were able to make ourselves comfortable in each room. We enjoyed the various gardens/patios and the quirky artworks therein... We found the staff to be very helpful (the...

We only stayed at this hotel for one night but had terrible experience. The staff were extremely unhelpful and they had no room service and no safety box and the wifi was super slow. It was not worth the price we paid however it has a nice garden and has got a nice overall design. Not recommended at all!!!

We were booked for 4 nights but left after 2 as room was basically double bed size, bed uncomfortable and bathroom so small I needed to get undressed before going in! Worst thing though was 96 degree heat and amazingly poor a/c. Spoke to reception who said it was a central system and as hotel was full was overworked and...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to give us your review! We are very sorry about the inconveniences. Regarding the size of the room, as you could see our hotel is based on a 1860 building that is protected by law, so when we converted it as a hotel is was necessary to adapt the spaces to its...

The lay-out of the hotel is lovely and the photographs are a true likeness but the bedrooms are very small as is the bedroom. There is no-where to stow suitcases other than on the floor at the bottom of the bed. The reviews we read said good location but it was a twenty minute walk to the main square where...

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to give us your opinion! We are very sorry to know that your stay with us wasn´t good. Our hotel is based in a 1860 building and when we converted it as a hotel we had to adapt the design to its original structure. There are three rooms cathegories to choose from,...

We stayed here at the beginning and end of our trip to Argentina. Friendly staff arranged for our private taxi (remise) to and from the international and national airports, wifi was good, rooms were not big, but lovely and modern, Super quiet, and the adjoining restaurant was great.

We stayed at this hotel in January and loved it. However it could use some improvements in the bathroom. Wifi worked pretty well. We had a problem with the air conditioner, it didn't get cool enough for the extreme heat. We loved the location and layout and definitely would return.

This hotel is centrally located in San Telmo. The rooms are quite new and the bed is nice! The rooms are not big (especially bathroom is small), but are clean and nice towels! There's is no airco and a small window which makes the rooms really hot (in summer) and musty. Be aware that normally breakfast is not included. On...

If I could live somewhere in BA, I would choose this hotel. Immaculately clean, genuinely friendly staff, excellent food, and of course the architecture. This hotel does not feel like a hotel, it feels like an old Hollywood film. A mixture of traditional architecture and modern design. Thank you Juan and all the amazing staff!

Staying in San Telmo

Neighbourhood Profile
San Telmo
Characterized by cobblestones and narrow streets, San Telmo is defined by the tango, the dance that made Buenos Aires world-famous. Tango is a fusion of many different cultures: a true child of immigration, much like the city itself. Nowadays, it comes alive after dark in the milongas (dance parties) attended by both locals and visitors alike, who dance until the wee hours of the morning. During the day, the antique shops and classic cafés and bars around Plaza Dorrego dominate the scene. The emblematic Bar Plaza Dorrego, with its green awnings, checkered tile floors, and wooden interiors, takes you back in time the moment you step inside. For true porteño traditions, San Telmo is the place to be.
