My husband and I are in Boston, remembering our great stay in Buenos Aires earlier this month. The Serena Hotel, very appropriately named, was surely a highlight of our trip; the sophisticated design of the lobby, spacious accommodations, wonderful breakfast and outdoor patio were all welcoming and comfortable. Most important though was the gracious attention of the front desk staff,...

We spent 4 nights here at the end of a long trip. Very convenient spot in a busy city. Small but adequate room size even for the large bags we had. Staff was terrific and the included breakfast was fine. The small courtyard is a nice place to unwind.

We stayed only one night and less than 24hrs but liked the cosy yet sophisticated feel of this hotel. The outside sitting area looks particularly nice. Nice breakfast . Although we didn't use the pool or the gymn both looked clean and well maintained and had complementary iced water flavoured with oranges or grapefruits.

This is a small hotel with very nice and helpful staff. Our stay included a very nice breakfast. The rooms were modern and clean. Loved our stay here. The location is very near great shopping and we could always snag a taxi right outside the front door. We will definitely return here - great hotel - location-staff and price!!!

Nice boutique hotel in a very good location in Buenos Aires. Rooms are not the biggest, but they are clean and elegant. The breakfast patio is very nice and refreshing. Wifi is good. The receptionist arranged airport transfer for us. I recommend it.

Our first impression was that the hotel was more like an inn than a city hotel. We arrived before noon from a 9 hour flight and they had a room waiting for us. The same thing occurred after we spent a week in Pantagonia. First arrival we had a very spacious room, but on the 2nd arrival it was smaller...

While visiting Buenos Aires, my boyfriend and I stayed at the Serena Hotel. Located in the upper scale neighborhood of Recoleta, many shops/malls and restaurants are walking distance. Our room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom, even though spacious and modern had some problems. First, the shower's draining system is poorly designed, causing the water to end up on...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Retiro
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
