Valentyn and Ada are ideal hosts, and were extremely helpful both before our arrival and during our stay. The personal attention/assistance was very much appreciated, and the location was ideal. The caveat is that our room (and presumably all rooms) have no air conditioning, and during the summer Buenos Aires can be extremely hot and humid. Our room had a...

My friend and I stayed at La Perla for 10 days while we looked for an apartment for our study abroad program. Ada and Valentyn are absolutely wonderful hosts and extremely kind people, they even offered to help us find an apartment. Our room and bathroom were always kept very clean and the breakfast in the morning is perfect before...

I stayed for 5 nights with Ada and Valentyn and they made my stay just perfect. La Perla is very centrally located - so just great for morning runs in Puerto Madero or sightseeing in San Telmo. Breakfast was delicious with home made bread, fresh fruit, yogurt, fresh orange juce and of course dulce de leche. Every morning Valentyn asked...

La Perla lived up to all of the great reviews that I read while researching for and planning our trip. Valentyn and Ada always answered all of my e-mails very promptly and with much detail. We visited Argentina over Christmas 2016. I worried about what we would do for Christmas dinner as I read how most restaurants were closed on...

Our hosts, ada and Val made our five nights in Buenos Aires very memorable. They arranged for us to join them for a lovely New Year's Eve dinner; the next night we went to see them tango at a regional club. Our breakfasts were great, with home made bread, yoghurt and fresh fruit. The rooms were clean, spacious and comfortable...

I have been to Buenos Aires 5 times and I have never considered staying any place other than La Perla ever since my husband and I discovered it on our second visit to Buenos Aires. I have stayed here both with my husband and for weeks when I have been travelling alone. My most recent stay was 3 weeks this...

We had a very pleasant and peaceful stay at this wonderful B&B. It was the best place we stayed at during our 3 week visit to Argentina. The location is great – close to most of city’s historic sites - only a ~block from the Plaza del Mayo and the Casa Rosada. We found that we could walk to most...

My wife and I have now stayed several times at La Perla, and it continues to set a high standard. Comfortable, well-appointed property at a very convenient location. Nice breakfast, including fresh-baked bread, every morning. Good bargain. And best of all the hospitality of Valentyn and Ada. I don't know where else we would stay when in BA.

Ada and Valentyn made our family of 4 feel as if we were staying with friends. We stayed 3 nights at their B&B in Buenos Aires. Great location to easily explore all of the city by bus, taxi or walking. Also very close to port for boats headed to Uruguay for day trips. Rooms are very comfortable. Breakfast was wonderful...

We recently stayed at La Perla (rated #1 on TA). Valentyn and Ada who own and run the place are so attentive to their guests. After showing us to our rooms, he sat down with us in the dining room and went over the city map giving us suggestions on what to see and possible restaurants to try. The B...

Staying in Montserrat

Neighbourhood Profile
Montserrat
As part of the historic quarter of Buenos Aires, Montserrat is defined by the historical events that took place there and the landmarks that have stood the test of time. The Plaza de Mayo is at the center of this connection to history: countless public demonstrations have passed through this square, going back to the May Revolution of 1810. Walking the streets of Montserrat allows us to imagine what Buenos Aires may have looked like in the past: the Cabildo takes us back to the late 16th century, while the Palacio Barolo and the traditional cafés carry us to the early 20th. Nowadays, the neighbourhood is inundated every day by office workers, buses, and taxis; still, the cobblestones, narrow sidewalks, and subway stations from the 1910s remind us that we are surrounded by history everywhere we look.
