I stayed here at the beginning and end of my trip. Every room is different in this quirky boutique hotel, including one with a loft bed. Karina was so helpful and couldn't do enough for me. Great breakfast too.

It's a 5 room hotel based on the 3rd floor of a historic building in the center of Buenos Aires. The hotel has nice rooms, the beds are ok, the bathrooms needs some maintenance, and the staff is very friendly. They also speak English what for me is handy because my lack of Spanish. It's a good place to spend your time in Buenos Aires.

Both hotels Bonito are really good value. This one on Chile is in an even more interesting suburb than is San Telmo. Montserrat is more"local". The service here is friendly and helpful and efficient. The rooms comfortable if basic the breakfasts are good. Really enjoyable.

I booked two bedrooms, one twin and one double. The hotel is located in a nice old building with beautiful decor (although it would need some refurbishment). Staff was friendly and breakfast was delicious - freshly made!

The twin bedroom was very small with no space for luggages, the bathroom was tiny, dark and badly ventilated. The other bedroom was a bit better but, overall, the premises were very poor in terms of cleanliness.

Response from BONITOBuenosAires, Gerente at Casa Bonita Buenos Aires

Dear Guest, thank you for taking the time to share your experience at Bonito with Trip Advisor Community. It is sad to here that you have faced so many cleanliness observations during your stay, specially because we did not notice them until we read your review in this site. Surely, we could have done a lot to make your experience better if we had known this in time. Regarding the space issues you are mentioning, I would like to point out that that Twin-Standard room that you've reserved is our smaller & cheapper option in the Hotel. We have other rooms bigger and cormftable for our passengers. We appreciate that breakfast has been to your liking. You will always be welcome to visit us again. Best regards, Karina

Hotel Bonito is set in the heart of Montserrat, a quirky district of Buenos Aires filled with restaurants and bakeries. Definitely the 'artiest' place we stayed during our honeymoon, each room is based around the work of a different local artist, with their paintings and murals on the walls and ceilings. Our room, Jerrica Benson, was split across two levels with the bedroom on the upper mezzanine and the living and bathroom areas below that.

Good points:
GREAT breakfast - lots of pastries, bread, dulce de leche, fruit and lovely juice served to your table in the dining room.
Helpful staff - will call restaurants, taxis etc to book for you.
Free and fast wifi, and a computer provided in the dining room.
Great shower!

Not so good points:
Cold room due to heater only being on mezzanine level and having draughty windows and concrete floor in the bathroom.
Staff only around from 8.30-3pm - we had to just leave our keys on a table when checking out as no-one was around to give them to. Though they do say you can arrange for someone to be there 'out of hours' in advance, this can be difficult if you are exploring the city all day.
Some of the décor is a little worn and could do with a repaint!

Overall, we did enjoy our stay here, but weren't upset to leave.

This seemed nice and friendly at first but we had many problems.

1. This was the first two nights of our honeymoon and we'd booked the room with the jacuzzi plus I had booked secretly for my partner the 'honeymoon' extras - a bottle of wine, chocolates and flowers. We did arrive early and the room was not ready but we were fine to go away and come back at the designated time. When we did arrive back at the designated time the room STILL was not ready and the staff member had run up the street to go and buy the special 'surprise' things. So we are waiting there and she comes in with flowers and wine and things in plastic bags which she quickly put in the room - all in view of both of us - it completely ruined the whole point (which we did have to pay for also).

2. Lift not working for 2/3 days which we were there so lugged 2 suitcases up three flights.

3. Hot water not working on the first day so jacuzzi experience was also pointless. Not to mentioned the pure inconvenience of not being able to have a shower and be clean to go out after a huge flight.

4. Electricity was out for an annoying period of time while we were there also.

5. Every door handle we touched seemed to fall off or get jammed.

6. Worst of all - this hotel is not on it's own in the building - there are neighbours and very noisy ones at that - the first night was no problem, but the second night we stayed the place directly above us, perhaps it's residential, was having a party with extremely loud music until 6am. Usually we'd join them, but we were jet-lagged and in serious need of sleep. Because this is not an exclusive building for the hotel, no one from the hotel did anything about it. It was just awful. They also did not acknowledge that it was a problem the next morning, saying they didn't hear it. It was SO loud.

Breakfast was fine, staff were helpful enough and it's in a decent spot but really that is about it.

I wouldn't recommend this place.

The first word that appears into my mind is 'Thanks'. I had just visited the 'Bonito Buenos Aires Hotel' in order to celebrate my courtship's anniversary, having needed to have an unforgettable soiree and it was. The bedrooms were deeply graceful, immaculate and elegant. Being an peacefully aesthetic atmosphere, the vintage furnishings, the relaxing music and the positive vibes produced an amazing experience. Apart from that, the people were helpfully nice and powerfully workaholic, that's why everything one needed would be solved as soon as possible. The location, the breakfast and the tidiness were key issues, too. Finally, I have no more words but to recommend to everyone to experience the fact of visiting the 'Bonito Buenos Aires Hotel'.

The location is not the best, but in a few minutes you reach a metro.
We got a nice room to the street. Unfortunately you can hear every noise from the street. We got a bunch of keys to get in the building and in the room.
The breakfast was done individually and at the time. Scrambled eggs, coffee, fruits, juice, bread,...altogether enough and good.
The day before we left we told the breakfast-lady that we will leave at 09:00.
The breakfast is announced from 08:30 - 11:00.
We waited until 09:00 and had to asked other guest's to open the door from the building to let us go! No employee was there...

The nice and big flatscreen could only be switched off by removing the plug. A little bit uncomfortable.

As there are a lot of alternatives in Buenos Aires I would not recommend it.

This is a charming guesthouse with well-designed, art-filled rooms and offering a nice combination of amenities to keep one very comfortable in Buenos Aires. As such, I stayed for five days upon my immediate arrival and again for another three days. The rooms are clean and guests can enjoy a shared area with comfortable couches, a selection of books and music plus a kitchen and small bar. The breakfast service is lovely—always accompanied by fresh fruit and pastries. And the reception hosted by the owner and other staff is very welcoming and attentive. A bit of noise from the street that can be heard in the rooms facing the street but this is to be expected in any large city. And I found myself craving a longer hot shower as the water seemed to cool faster than normal.

We only stayed here one night but everything was fine. Found it a little tricky to find but eventually did. Some things in the room were a little worn but overall fine. The spa was a nice luxury for us as we had been staying at hostels and b&b. supermarket close by as well as pharmacy. A little but of noise but it is a big city! Overall a nice place to rest before an early flight in the morning!
