This hotel is a great example of how great boutique hotels can be. To me it felt more like a yoga hotel with a plant wall in the entrance and a gorgeous cleverly laid out room with a huge spa. I had a yoga mat delivered in the morning and there were bath products available for the spa. My room...

A great central location and a spa-like atmosphere. The hotel staff was incredibly helpful throughout our stay, and agreed to store a box of clothing for me for almost a month while I was traveling in other parts of South America.

The name CASA CALMA suits the hotel perfectly: charming people at the reception, huge wonderful rooms with full size double jacuzzi and all the amenities possible. At the reception they even offer you bicycles for free - and what bicycles : made of bamboo super light cycles. A pleasure to ride the bicycle paths in Buenos Aires with them. I...

We only got to stay at Casa Calma for one night after a week long hiking trip in the Patagonia and before our trip to Mendoza. Really wish we got to stay here longer. This is a small boutique hotel in Retiro. While it isn't really a beautiful area, the location is easily walkable to Recoleta, Puerto Madero, and other...

A lovely little hotel, staff were exceptional. Room was quiet and very comfortable with all mod cons, bed was very comfy. The hotel arranged transfers to/from airport which were excellent, on time and comfortable. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel.

I am very pleased that we decided to spend a couple of days in Buenos Aires before our SAmerican cruise. And the Casa Calma, a small environment friendly hotel in the centre of the City is well named as it is indeed tranquil and the breakfast catered for all tastes. Would stay there again. The first day was spent rushing...

Very refreshing atmosphere in a city where everything is hustle & bustle. The rooms are spacious. Each room has a Jacuzzi and a shower, dual sinks and plenty of bathroom counter space.. It's a small hotel (18 rooms); we chose one away from the street which probably made it even better. Staff is very friendly & helpful. We booked a...

From the great room with a lot of space, jacuzzi and rainforest shower until the outstanding and individual service of the whole staff... We had a great time here. The location is also excellent to explore the city by foot. Fully recommendet!

Casa Calma is an eco-friendly hotel, centrally located, with spacious rooms, xlarge beds, shower, jacuzzi. The atmosphere is serene ("calma") and the young service staff is available, quick, polite. The breakfast area rather small. All common parts (reception, breakfast area) were really small. We can not give the highest score because nothwithstanding having requested a quiet room, not facing the...

The hotel was fabulous. Of the three hotels we stayed in over our trip, Casa Calma was the best. Staff was courteous and very helpful. Rooms and public areas were well maintained and clean. Loved the large format rooms with generous bath facilities. Being on a relatively quiet street was nice. Walking distance to many sites and restaurants. Breakfast selection...

Staying in Retiro

Neighbourhood Profile
Exquisite palaces and luxurious apartment buildings combine with art galleries and exclusive boutiques to make Retiro the perfect spot for those who enjoy sophistication. However, the non-stop foot traffic to and from Retiro train and bus terminals, accompanied by the myriad of trucks leaving and arriving at the port, mean this neighbourhood is never truly at rest. One minute you are walking down a street dotted with ornate mansions and luxurious shop windows and the next you find yourself surrounded by a sea of people racing to catch their train or bus. It is this juxtaposition of never-ending comings and goings and quiet, elegant luxury that defines Retiro, as well as Buenos Aires, a city where sharp contrasts are all around.
