This charming hotel is located in the old colonial part of the city it is within walking distance of lots of amazing restaurants and cafés and shops. The neighborhood has amazing buildings and churches with huge doors tall ceilings. The hotel rooms offers a nice breakfast, games and travel and other books you can borrow. The room itself was small but adequate with shelving a TV and a nice hot shower. The best part of our stay was the amazing staff that worked there. They were so helpful and accommodating. A special shout out goes to Clara, Rocio snd Lucas for the excellent service making sure that our experience was excellent. They even gave us the name of an exchange place that gave us a lot more money for our dollar than other places. if you are not in good physical shape, ask for a room on the ground floor. There were a lot of steps to go to the second floor with our heavy suitcases. That was the only downside. There is also a little supermarket right across the street which is convenient. We enjoyed our stay here recommend this hotel!

Get ground floor room if you don’t like stairs. Bring lots of $100 bills. $50, $20, $10 get less. Argentina has a complicated and convoluted exchange rate system: Here is an illustration per 1 US$ Blue rate 900 Visa credit card 800 Official money exchangers 750-780 Master Card 350, then refund 450 a few days later Amex 350 Official government rate 350 ATM (any foreign credit debit) Exchange them every couple days or so, usually at restaurants or some shops. Best is a shop on Florida Street 860, local 113. Lots of touts on Florida Street too if you want to deal with them. Don’t pay hotel bills in US dollars. It is calculated on the official rate. Pay in peso in cash. Problem with Western Union is you have to find them, and they are not 24x7.

L'Adresse is in the heart of the hip and recovering San Telmo neighborhood, and indeed seems to embody its virtues: understated, unpretentious, and even inconspicuous. Its youthful staff tend the breakfast service even as they keep their eye on the reception desk in the first couple hours of the morning. I had arrived past 1 in the morning, and was grateful that the staffer that night was not only awake when I arrived, but insistent on carrying my suitcase up to the room -- it was up two long flights of stairs. The room was adequate to my needs, with a comfortable bed, hot water in the shower, and WiFi throughout. The morning staffer steered me to a casa de cambio where I could exchange my (cash) dollars for pesos at a rate of 675 to the dollar. (I later passed others in the same neighborhood that offered as much as 700.) During Argentina's current economic crunch, the visitor does well not to take the 10% discount on a prepaid booking, which is calculated at the "official" rate of exchange (350 pesos=1US$); rather, book the reservation to pay the full amount, in pesos, when the visitor checks out -- and convert your dollars to pesos once you're in town. The L'adresse's most distinctive asset is its location in San Telmo, where B.A.'s youthful energy is. It's a short walk from Plaza Dorrego, the informal "heart" of the district, and for that matter is a perfectly walkable distance from Plaza de Mayo and the city's historic center. If you're not desperate for luxuries, and like walking up stairs, it's a great find.

Extremely friendly staff. We arrived early and check-in was not until 2 pm but they have an area to hold the bags and freshen up. They offered us fresh and delicious cafe con leche which was much needed after our long flight. Also provided useful tips for sightseeing and exchanging our money for pesos. The room is basic with no frills but adequate if you are going to spend all your time wandering the city anyway. Very cute common areas. Walking distance to San telmo, plaza de mayo and safe neighborhood.

This quiet, homey hotel on a narrow San Telmo street is a short walk to the weekend street fair at Plaza Dorrego, the Parque Lezuma, the San Telmo market (entrance off Defensa & others), and many antique shops. The hotel is secure - the front door is always locked; ring the doorbell for prompt entry. The vintage building has ornate tile floors, high ceilings, and mid-century furnishings. Note that there is no elevator. We took a long flight of marble stairs to reach our room. Rooms have tall wood doors and shutters with an old-world feel. Everything is clean and comfortable. The included breakfast is average but the coffee is excellent. The staff is minimal - not including housekeeping we generally saw just one person who checked people in. There is a place to leave luggage and a restroom if you arrive early. Despite the hotel listing English as a language I called ahead with a question and reached someone with no English. Despite our lack of Spanish, everyone was welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and the neighborhood feeling of old Buenos Aires.

A charming little boutique hotel. The location is great, you can walk to numerous points of interest in San Telmo, including the Sunday Market, and to adjacent areas like La Boca. One of the best features of L'Adresse was the service. We felt like we got to know Brian and Carlos. They were friendly, charming and very helpful. A highlight was a Tango show at El Almacen, which Brian and Carlos recommended. They arranged for a car that took us both ways. It was a fantastic show. Yes, such shows are "touristy" and if you're a Tango aficionado or scholar, I imagine you could probably find something more authentic... but we're tourists, after all, so we don't look down on doing some touristy things!

This not a 5 star hotel. It is small and quaint. The rooms are clean and air-conditioned. The service is outstanding and deserves it to be 5 star. The office guys provided us with excellent information and couldn't be more friendlier or helpful. easy area to get around.

After touring the city we have decided we picked a great hotel in the best area to stay. San Telmo is the historic district with cobblestone streets, great eats, and interesting markets. The hotel is quaint, clean and the staff are very friendly. They booked all our tours for us and were helpful with restaurant suggestions. The breakfast is sufficient to start your day of exploring.

I was very comfortable at L’Adresse and would certainly stay there again if I have the pleasure of returning to Buenos Aires. Though convenient to public transportation in San Telmo, I mostly explored on foot. Plaza de Mayo was maybe a 20 minute walk, Plaza San Martín maybe 40 minutes. Particular favorites of mine were closer: the Museum of Modern Art, the Reserva Ecológica. I liked L’Adresse for all the reasons we prefer independent boutique hotels: the authentic building in the context of a historic neighborhood, the care and attention to preservation and character of the space, the personalization of the service, from the complimentary breakfast to the thoughtfulness of the staff in helping me out with many small demystifications, suggestions, and encouragements. It was an excellent choice.
