If you want 5 star monotony, and matching pressed bed sheets then this is not for you - However you will get a really warm welcome, interesting conversation, great food, chap wine and a unique house full of individual charm. Working out how to get constant hot water from the plumbing in the 'cottage' we stayed in was all part...

We loved to stay at Casa Grande. It's been fantastic, relaxing and very familiar. Having breakfast all together in the morning has been like a stay in an international flat-sharing community instead of staying in a hotel which look pretty much the same all over the world. We would love to come back straight away!

Breakfast is the best part- the people you meet are all like minded and very interesting!! Ask Sally for stories of the history of Casa Grande, local beaches and restaurants .... And most of all Hollywood movie stars...!

This is not a hotel it is a HOME. This is what our 4 year old said towards the end of our 10 day stay at Casa Grande. She could not have described it better. If you are looking for luxurious 5 star facilities in sterile ubiquitous hotels then look again-this place is not for you. But if you want...

We 1st visited this restaurant a few years ago and walked out after we watched the lady who was preparing the food wiping her forehead and hair and then handling the food.We decided to give it another go after reading the latest reviews. On our arrival the place certainly looked cleaner than our last visit and we enjoyed our garlic bread...

We have eaten here twice, the food is superb. Read the other reviews for the architecture, style and accomodation. But for a meal this is the hidden gem of Burgau. The menu is brief; pasta and pizza but the flavours are extreme. All cooking is done in full view, the pizza's have wonderful thin and crisp bases to allow the...

Casa Grande is a big beautiful mansion in Burgau. It is full of history and loads of charm. Sally who owns and runs it is without question the most informative and helpful and tour guide you will ever come across in your travels. If you are used to staying in B&B and quest houses you will know what you are...

Ariving in Algarve for the first time we where so happy to end up in the beautiful and charming Casa Grande. A unique old wine house that breathes the history of time, managed by the kind and trusting Sally who lived in this part of Portugal since the seventies. With the informative kindness of our host and the beauty of...

Lovely house very close to the beach. We had a spacious clean room with on the ground floor with an ensuite bathroom. Friendly atmosphere - different nationalities with different stories to share at the breakfast table. Homemade jams and English tea if desired. Sally is the perfect host - welcoming, inquisitive and helpful.

Looking for a place in the Western Algarve, we followed a tip in the guidebook "National Geographic" and found Sally's old manor house in Burgau. We were taken directly from her in the spacious and charming rooms and fell in love at first sight. We felt right at home and adopted by Sally. And yes, it's true, you should be...
