Just finished wonderful stay at the Batavia...the staff were incredible in their attentiveness yet respectful of our privacy. Breakfast was great with many options available. Availailabilty of Latte's would've been nice, but maybe next time. Suzanne was just great with reservations and suggestions for day trips. Tim even took my car to the garage for air in a tire. The...

It is a pet peeve of mine that a lot of small hotels and larger B&Bs market themselves as 'boutique'. To me, Boutique hotel suggests a high level of luxury and bespoke service. Batavia is not that, but it is a charming B&B. The interior features interesting decor and we were very happy with our room which was sizable and...

We had an opportunity to enjoy an entire week the hospitality of Tim and Suzaan. This actually started already when preparing our trip to South Africa - Suzaan arranged basically all of our dinner and tee-off time reservations which was extremely useful because of the holiday season. Batavia itself is a 5-star boutique hotel close to everything in Stellenbosch. Rooms...

The Batavia is a 2 minute walk from the centre of Stellenbosch and truly lives up to its 5 star boutique status. Tim and Suzanne were charming hosts who ensured a relaxed atmosphere prevailed throughout and were always ready to help including making dinner reservations at local restaurants. The rooms were well furnished and the breakfast was excellent. The wifi...

My family and I had one night at Batavia earlier this month and our only disappointment was that it wasn't longer! Great location right in the centre of Stellenbosch but felt quiet and secluded! Restaurants and coffee shops only a 2 minute stroll away. Rooms comfortable and well-appointed. Breakfast was good but not particularly memorable. Stellenbosch is well worth a...

One of the best guest houses we've stayed at. The air-conditioned room was beautiful, certainly one of the best breakfasts we've had. Tim and Suzanne were amazing and helpful. Maps were provided and directions given to the places we wanted to visit. So all in all we think the Guest House/Hotel was outstanding.

I stayed for four nights in the Batavia Hotel in December 2014. Having stayed in numerous hotels throughout the years, the time at the Batavia Hotel was one of the most fabulous ones. The rooms are furnished in the typical colonial kind of style and have large windows which allow for lots of light throughout the day. Thus they provide...
