We have just returned from spending the weekend at Mountain Shadows. It was homely, comfy and really relaxed. The rooms are spacious and the manor house is beautiful. Stunning grounds, gorgeous sunsets and very kind and friendly hosts who go the extra mile for their guests. We will certainly be back:)

Not a place for me. The less said the better, but since two hundred letters are minimum, I will compliment Mountain shaddow on its lovely grapes and resulting red wine. Nice staff and lovely views....

It's so rare these days, to be able to arrive at an establishment and feel totally and thoroughly relaxed/welcomed and at home right from the get go. The Truter Family are so warm and accommodating, they truly have created a brilliant environment to kick off the shoes, grab a book and unwind. I've been a couple times and i plan...

My really enjoyed my stay at the Mountain Shadows Guest House. Kind owners, who take the time to find out about the guests and their wellbeing (I found this very thoughtful). I found the views of the mountains absolutely spectacular, and waking up to these views on a daily basis was beyond any words I can muster. Thank you for...

Such a magical place! Amazing views of the Drakenstein mountains and the perfect romantic getaway, where you can relax and unwind from City Living! The breakfast was great and staff were friendly and helpful! We loved the honeymoon suite! ( fireplace, large bath... Fairy lights in the bedroom..) and with little or no wifi and cellphone reception, the whole scene...

We loved our stay at Mountain Shadows. The guest house is perfectly set against the mountains and you can't help but unwind as you drive into the estate. The room was large and spacious. The breakfasts were hearty and delectable. We just found it to be a little bit out the way from the actual village of Paarl but otherwise...

Gregory and Kathy have been wonderful hosts and ensured that my stay was pleasant. The room was homely with the basic necessities. The establishment was on a beautiful estate with the mountains in the backdrop. As it was a business trip, I did not get the opportunity to explore the surrounding areas. It is conveniently located about 10 minutes drive...
