My husband and I arrived at De Zeekoe for a one night stay whilst travelling in South Africa. Our initial impressions were not good - I waited 20 minutes for a cocktail, which, to be honest wasn't up to much. The room was very nice and the air conditioning worked very well, which was important as it was a very...

We were looking forwards to staying at this location after reading about it. Were totally disappointed and would not recommend it to anyone. The reception staff (including the owner) was not at all welcoming. We had driven for almost 7 hours to get there and no welcome drink was offered. We had booked a river view room. Well the "river...

It was very very dry when we were there so this limited the activities which I am sure are fantastic when the place has had rain. The food is reasonable but not great. The wine and beer are good quality and very reasonably priced. The best thing for us was the Meerkat tour, this was worth every penny that we...

We stayed one night at De Zeekoe so that we could do the early morning Meerkat Tour (which was great, see separate review!) One of the reasons for booking the hotel was because we thought the meerkat tour started from there so would be less hassle early morning, but we still had to navigate a 10 minute drive to a...

We loved our cabin overlooking the lake and all the birds - such a pretty peaceful spot and the cabins were delightful.Would like to come back in winter and get the fire going. Enjoyed dinner at the lodge. Staff all very attentive.

We had 3 fabulous days at the farm, lovely rooms with great relaxing area over day time. The concept of staff from the area that is doing a training to learn hospitality service is well thought through and works perfectly fine. We liked the staff, the food and surrounding. Max & Chrissi

My wife and I wanted to experience the meerkat presentation and, as an early morning start was necessary, we chose this guest house as a good place to overnight. We were warmly welcomed and shown around by Thomas who was excellent. We were given a lovely room and later had a great dinner. The breakfast in the mornng was also...

We stayed for 2 nights in the honeymoon suite. It was huge, with a very comfortable bed, and mosquito nets - which we were grateful for. The views from our balcony were fabulous and it was extremely quiet and peaceful. We had wonderful evenings stargazing! The food was good - not fine dining, but well presented. It was incredibly competitively...

The positives - out of town, so very peaceful with awesome views. The rooms were very well kitted out with lots of little extras and extremely spacious and comfortable. Very relaxing atmosphere and ideally situated for those wishing to visit ostrich farms etc. The staff were friendly and helpful. Excellent breakfast provided, with a good variety, except coffee was cold!...
