We dropped by quite by coincidence and got the most beautiful room you could imagine (cactus room). The staff was very attentive and friendly - we immediately felt at home. The owner of the place unites all guests for a family-style dinner in the evenings, starting with a glass of sparkling wine. He really cares for his guests and he...

As soon as we arrived on a very hot day we mere met with a cool beer and quickly shown our luxury villas. Wolfgang and Dagmar were superb hosts with such a good sense of humour. Loved the outdoor dining, the chef who cooked our meal, the other guests who were all German, but spoke English in our company. Will...

Stayed here for a couple of nights last month and what a lovely time I had. The German owners are real characters and make you most welcome. As a lone traveller, I was pleasantly surprised at the communal dining table in the evenings - quite fun trying to recall my schoolboy German. The 'welcome drink' each evening was most welcome...

Fantastic service from the characterful hosts. Our agent had made a mistake with the booking but it was sorted out by the owners. Fantastic Ostrich dinner under the stars at the communal table. Facilities and accommodation great. Would definitely recommend it.

A great guest house with great hosts ! The guest house is out in the little Karoo and definitely off the beaten track! The accommodation is fabulous and there are 2 swimming pools. Dinner can be served at the guest house and is on a communal table - good fun but if you prefer dinner is available in town and...

This is a good quality Guest Farm and the accommodation one of the best we stayed in. The proprieters are of German origin and all the other guests were German which made conversation a little difficult as we did not speak German. The chef was a Zulu and we were offered a selection of different meats like ostrich etc. (The...

Montana Guest Farm has a beautiful and neat garden and is spacious, so are the rooms (huge). Ours had a living room, a bedroom, and a jacuzzi outside of the bathroom, as well as two balconies and a patio. The room could have been vacuum-cleaned before we arrived and it would have been nicer if there wasn`t a carpet (every...

Stayed here just one night whilst touring the Garden Route. Excellent, well-maintained accommodation in beautiful grounds featuring an ancient giant cactus. Some ostriches and friendly dog on site. We stayed for dinner [5 adults], being too tired to drive into Oudtshoom [12km], and were not disappointed. Mine Host - Wolfgang - fancies himself as bit of a raconteur and treated...

We stayed for only one night at Montana Guest Farm and deeply regretted not being able to stay longer and enjoy the place and its setting. We nevertheless had the pleasure of seeing the farm against a black and threatening sky as well as bathing in sunlight. Both were stunning ! Montana Guest Farm is an old farm dating back...

We stayed at Montana Guest Farm while doing a motorcycling tour in South Africa. We arrived, absolutely sweltering, to an enthusiastic welcome from Wolfgang and Dagmar. After we were shown our room we had a lovely swim to cool off. The main house is an old colonial, verandahed home, with the guest rooms located in 2 separate buildings across the...
