This is my second stay at Surval and it never ceases to amaze me. It is truly a 5 star venue with superb staff and service. The facilities are excellent. A bonus for us was that it also hosts the local Parkrun which meant a stunning 5 km run around the estate.

We had a lovely stay in a luxury room. The room was very spacious with a kingsize bed, electric blanket and choice of feather or synthetic pillows. The bathroom is enormous with big shower, bath and two basins. Free wi-fi. We had supper at the restaurant which was extremely good. We went half/half with a lamb shank and lamb chops...

We really liked the rooms and the staff, the ploughmans platter and the Study Olive platter. Karuso MCC- Daniel you the king boet - it is fantastic. Staff were great and always prepared to help. Some attention might be required on the meat cuts, and personally I think there are too many items on the menu. All in all a...

This is a difficult review to write! We visited in winter and like most places it was a bit quieter but this was entirely different! We came up the drive(very far from town but we knew that) and it seemed deserted - we actually think we were the only ones there the night we stayed (certainly felt like that)! The...

A beautiful, peaceful and authentic "Karoo style' Boutique hotel set amongst the olive orchards with sweeping views over neighbouring farms and the distant mountain ranges. Our day started with a 'surprise' birthday picnic at the pool gazebo, on such a perfect spring day it was simply stunning. The luxury picnic hampers for two, were filled with delicious goodies. It was...

We arrived for a superb picnic luncheon underneath an exclusive Gazebo. Comfy lounge furniture excellent views and friendly staff, when you can find them that is! The bar was at least 300 metres away in the main building. The picnic hamper amply serves two and included a great selection of hot and cold goodies. We stayed over in the well...

We chose Oudtshoorn as we wanted to drive the R62 from Swellendam, and the R328 to Mossel Bay - both stunning drives and well recommended. We chose the Surval hotel as a bit of luxury between 2 long car journeys, and it did not disappoint. The rooms are modern, very large and comfortable; in winter we had an electric blanket...

Weren't quire sue what to expect, the photos looked lovely, but they can be deceiving...well it was better than it looked! The place is incredible and was the perfect start to our road trip. Food was also good and the staff both friendly and willing. Owner took time out to come and say hello, which is always a nice touch.Highly recommended.

A beautiful place with a spacious and clean room thank you. It is all just quiet impersonal - The dining room has no atmosphere, and the room had a small tv with a few local stations, booking luxury suite one expects to be able to have seen the Olympics and some World News stations - so frustrating when you relax...
