It's a big property filled with cozy, homey things. The only downside was the very rude bartender who wouldn't let me and the rest of the group play beerpong, at all, because he... More

From the moment we entered the premises we enjoyed the friendly staff and clean facilities. The security is of a very high standard. The two nights we stayed there we never felt unsafe for a moment.Truly a positive experience.

Loved our stay here. Staff were very friendly and we loved the dogs there. The rooms were really nice and comfortable and it was such a beautiful historic place to stay. We stayed in one of the private rooms with ensure bathrooms and it felt much more like a boutique hotel than a hostel. Didn't end up using the kitchens... More

The night we stayed there was an Ostrich Braai which was absolutely delicious! The only downside is that there was not wifi in the room and there were too many people on the wifi in the common room so I could not connect until breakfast time. Had a great night hanging out by the fire and having a few drinks... More

Spent two nights here on the way through the garden route, and had an incredible time. Loads to do around the area, and given a lot of advice by the owners who called up a few places for us. Great dinner of ostrich sausages and kebabs cooked on the open fire, and a bar with a pool table. Rooms are... More

Oudtshoorn is one of the most beautiful places in SA and BP is the place to experience it from! The bike rides, cango caves, ostrich wildlife farms and cango wildlife ranch kept us busy for 2 full days and there was plenty more on offer. The staff are extremely friendly and were able to help upgrade us for 2 of... More

We arrived as a family to a cold welcome from the lady at the front desk. We had changed our dates a few months before and received email confirmation from both the Backpackers email itself and Booking.com that the change had been made. When we arrived the lady at the desk said we did not have a room because we... More

Had a wonderful experience at Backpackers Paradise and Joyrides! They were very accommodating and helped us with recommendations for the area for dinner, activities, etc. The room was great for a big group of people, however the bathroom was not attached to the room. It was a little chilly walking from the bathroom to the room after taking a shower.... More
