The accommodation was great. It felt like staying in a big beach house with all the beautiful views. The furnishings were good old world charm which gave it a homely traditional feel. The room was bright and airy with a fan, hairdryer and coffee/tee supplied.

My 2nd stay at this delightful accommodation with very comfy beds - and our group had a fabulous private courtyard area, which was lovely. Breakfast, swimming pool and owners amazing. Highly recommended

Pete and Mart are excellent hosts at their old-style guest house. Our room (2) had lovely views from the balcony overlooking the lagoon. The rooms are in the traditional style of the old house but clean and well equipped. The only thing that may help would be thicker curtains for later lie-ins – not that it bothered us as we... More

Beautiful rooms, lovely, friendly hosts, comfortable beds, great breakfasts on stoep with amazing views of whole lagoon and heads! Tame fiscal shrike at breakfast, who enjoys cheese! Beautiful pool area surrounded with roses. Quiet and high up on hill, but still close to restaurants and shops. Very helpful advice from hosts about whats on and best and most appropriate places... There is nothing that makes a Tourist Guide happier than Happy Passengers! Once again I drove out of Guinea Fowl Lodge completely satisfied with happy smiling passengers vowing to return one day to once again enjoy the superb hospitality of Mart and Pete and to just relax at the end of the day on the deck overlooking the town and... I spent two weeks in Knysna as part of an educational exchange with a local school. While my students lived with local host families, I stayed at Guinea Fowl, and couldn't have asked for a better place. Rooms are clean and comfortable, with a cozy, private terrace overlooking the Heads, Thesen Island, and the sea. The views are breathtaking. The... More

After taking a look at lots of accomodations, we finally got to the GFL and knew, this is it. With a great view over the city of knysna and the waterfront, comfortable rooms with a balcony and a safe parking area we had everything we needed. The next day we received an excellent breakfast on the terrace and had our... More

I attended the Knysna Oyster Festival and was treated like royalty. Taking part in the sporting events for the week I looked for a place that provided comfort and received that with the bonus of great hospitality, excellent breakfasts, breath taking views and only 2mins walk from town and the festival. Guinea Fowl is definitely the place to stay and... More

Again, Pete and Mart did not disappoint! Guinea Fowl Lodge is not only a comfortable and welcoming guest house, but conveniently situated two minutes' walk from the town centre. Private outside "porch" leading onto the garden, with table and chairs is wonderful. Stayed in June which was cold, but the room was already heated when i arrived. Pete's breakfasts are... More

Stayed recently here and was very happy. Handy location for the town and has a swimming pool too. Lovely spot for a sunny breakfast on the balcony overlooking Knysna. Very friendly staff and helpful for any travel tips you may need.
