My husband and I had a nice stay at Knysna Manor House. The older home has a ton of charm, and the check-in process was easy. We enjoyed the back patio, honesty bar in the evening and the breakfast in the morning. Our room was very large and comfortable. The only drawback is I wo

Thank you so much for your very kind words, glad you enjoyed the deck, honesty bar, and the size of the room. Each room in the guesthouse has it's own personality, and I know that some people love the room that you were in and some are not too sure about the shower in the room, but glad that you appreciate the context of the guesthouse. We look forward to having you back and for you to experience the other double rooms. Travel safe Gail

A pleasant old house well representing it's era. Very large and comfortable rooms and excellent tips from the friendly staff.
Elephant Sancturary was a true success as well as Golf.
Happy to return - altough somewhat far from Stockholm - Sweden - but worth the journey :-)

We stayed 2 nights. The first night I was place downstairs in a room next to the road and the shell garage. That night I was kept awake by the people at the garage, slamming things , screaming at oneanother and playing music loudly. The next morning I requested to be moved and th

Thank you for taking the time to review us on this platform. I have never had to reply to a review such as yours, and as you can see by my previous replies, have never had to defend our guesthouse or staff like I am going to. Your review is inaccurate (and inconsistent) with other reviews in so many ways. We took action as soon as we received your hand written letter this morning, and contacted and advised your supervisors regarding the situation. With regards to the room, we did move you, and unfortunately, cannot do anything about the noise levels, which at times are high all over Knysna. You might not have requested to be moved straight away, but beds have to be remade, linens replaced and the room cleaned, all of which cannot be done during the busy period of breakfast at the guesthouse. I am happy that my manager managed to find a room to move you to. If one has special dietary needs, then these should be expressed on booking, or arrival, so that the necessary arrangements can be made, you asked my manager for a lemon, and she went home to get you a lemon, you did not ask for lemon juice. I am not sure if many guesthouses even have lemons for their guests or that they would go out of their way to go home and get one specifically for you!!!! With regards to the breakfast this morning, our staff do not stay on the property, and as such, our booking platforms advise that breakfast is served daily from 7h00 am. If guests leave before my managers arrive, they normally settle their account the night before and leave the keys at reception. Your request for a breakfast was made after our staff had left for the day. You specifically asked for a sandwich to take with you due to your early departure, which obviously can only be made fresh. This is a bit ironic as the day before you told my staff that you do not eat bread. My manager asked if she could arrange for fruit salad to left out, which you replied you did not want. It was a catch 22 situation, in which no one could win. We also operate an honesty bar, which you yourself made use of, but no honesty was shown on your behalf, because you did not bother to leave the money for the drinks you consumed, but managed to leave a very rude letter,. As you yourself are a tour guide and in the tourism business you should know that you offer certain services, and that sometimes it is beyond your power to entertain a guests many different requests (but we did try our hardest). I know that there are two sides to each story, you had the opportunity to give yours, and above is my right of reply, which I am sure every person who views us on TripAdvisor will appreciate. I trust that you travel safe on your future tours. Gail Dalton Owner
