I stayed here for three nights. We had the most wonderful time. Stunning views, delicious breakfasts, friendly service, beautiful rooms and very comfy beds. I also loved the honesty bar and the welcoming lounge with crackling fire. I would recommend this place to anyone. It's one of the best places I've stayed in for a long time.

Staff extremely friendly and helpful - facilities well maintained and clean. Lovely setting with great restaurant and good food at affordable prices. Great get-away venue and the roads are in fairly good condition to get to the venue.

My husband and two kids stayed here for just a day's sleep over on our return trip to Cape Town from PE, and we had such a lovely time as a family and wished we could stay longer; if only the rooms were not fully booked! The staff welcomed us with gentleness and the gentle breeze and beautiful weather on... More

Just loved our experience at Amanzi - a true gem indeed - will surely return. Everything was just perfect - from the moment I've booked - the staff is just incredible and answered all my questions with such willingness it is actually a benchmark for other to follow - until we departed, everything was just brilliant. Will definitely visit again.

We arrived well before check-in time, but we were welcomed with a cup of tea and offered breakfast anyway. We asked to go out on the bay in the kayaks, and the staff hauled it down to the bay for us (and later hauled it back up the steps to the hotel). We came back after about an hour, and... More

My husband and I stayed here as a drop off whilst travelling the garden route. From beginning to the end of the stay we were made to feel really welcome and the staff were so so friendly! Immaculate rooms and facilities. The only criticism that I had was that they had a problem with the laundry whiskey we were there... More

Dear Jessica As the owners of Amanzi Lodge Catherine and I were horrified to read your review and the issue around the laundry/ towels. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention and we are at the lodge this week. We will certainly be addressing this issue with the staff ! This is very embarrassing and we have... More

Myself and my wife were travelling along the garden route and spent a night at the Amanzi Island Lodge. We were blown away by the detail and care the staff took in the guest guest house. The rooms and common areas were immaculate. The staff were extremely welcoming and always up for a chat. Amanzi Island Lodge definitely comes highly... More

The Amanzi is located on Leisure Island. It could not be better named. The front view looks out onto the coastal water plains. The water rises and falls with the tides. The actual Amanzi Island Lodge is amazing. The rooms are huge. The view is breath taking. It is a slice of paradise

This was our fifth or sixth visit. We stay here when visiting for the annual Knysna marathon. Amanzi is situated on the lagoon, in the very quiet Leisure Isle. Yet the town is only a 10 minute drive away. Amanzi will drive you to the town and collect you when you are ready to return, at a very reasonable fee,... More

I really didn't want to leave this place. First of all, Leisure Isle is about the most relaxing setting I can imagine. It is only about 10 minutes drive from Knysna downtown for shopping & restaurants. But the location of Amanzi is perfect for bike riding & kayaking, which the lodge supplies free of charge. Biking around was amazing. The... More
